This is a DVD-R, which made me worry it was a bootleg, but the video quality is very high and the menu system is very professional. Likely just a cheaper way to produce a less popular title. If you enjoy the Beach Party universe, you'll probably like this one as well.

This AIP comedy has got to be one of the silliest they ever produced but it is endearing nevertheless and lots of fun. It also has some nice original songs. The quality of the MGM MOD DVD is a stunning 2.35 Panavision image with great color. It actually looksremastered. There are certainly worse ways to spend 90 minutes.

The bad news on this film is that much of the dialogue was poorly written and poor Fred Clark's character seems much more like a minimum wage worker rather than a general. There are plenty of missed opportunities for wittier dialogue and more interesting plot devices.The good news is that you can still enjoy a mid-60's comedy w/light scifi aspects that features a good cast. Fortunately, Eve Arden's character is the most vibrant and best conceived. Cesar Romero and Reginald Gardiner are both excellent in their supporting roles as NATO officers. Harvey Lembeck does a nice job with his creepy character. Likable Frankie Avalon and Deborah Walley do their best with the material at hand, and the musical numbers are decent enough. Probably one of the funniest characters in the film is the virtually unseen "President" (obviously a parody of Lyndon Johnson) by Pat Buttram.

Some of the actors (and actresses) of other Frankie Avalon beach movies have cameos in this film. Frankie Avalon does an excellent job of playing two roles of himself! A great supporting cast including Buster Keaton, Caesar Romero, Eve Arden, Daryl Hickman, and many others!Recommended for Frankie Avalon fans!

This is a movie many years ago. It is funny if you like Frankie Avalon then you will like this movie. Frankie is very young in this movie.

Part of the early 60s Beach party gang back up Frankie Avalon in this embarrassingly simple film.In the beginning it looks like a well budgeted film. But not very long after it’s obvious. This a low budget attempt to get the beach party film audience buying movie tickets.,If the script is weak it doesn’t matter who is in your film. Frankie isn’t a comedic actor. This movie calls for him to be funny. He acts goofy. It doesn’t work.Eve Arden stands out, but she can’t save this film.If you do attempt to watch this you will thank God for the Fast forward button.The audio is fine. The color is a bit faded but it’s ok.

So what can I say at this time . The price was good and it showed up as expected. The person that this is going too's birthday is still a couple of weeks away so no ops check at this time.
