Expedition tent big enough for home base
I didn't purchase this tent, but I did assist in setting it up in a yard. Without reading the instructions, it went up quickly and easily with only one point of confusion. Thus, I consider this to be a pretty straightforward tent to put up. We had 2 people which was helpful, but I think that it would have gone up with only one person had we started with the perimeter poles.Expanding on the point of confusion: there are 3 different sizes of poles in this tent. 2 identical black poles that are very long. 4 identical black poles that are off medium length. 2 identical black poles that are short and of smaller diameter. The two shortest poles are easily distinguished from the others. It would be nice if the other two types of poles were easily distinguished (by color) from each other.Recommendation: identify 4 medium length pole and slide them through the perimeter tent sleeves. Identify the two longest poles (if it were my tent, I'd mark them with paint or fingernail polish) and install them in the sleeves that cross perpendicularly across the top center of the tent (I would also mark the opening of these sleeves with the same color of fingernail polish). Then I'd install the medium length perimeter poles into their grommets before the longest poles. Tada!Note that the floor is detached and is attached to the tent body via plastic clips. Thus it is not designed to keep the critters, sand, or water completely out of the tent. They seem an accessory tent that is installed inside of this one that would be self contained.
