Waste of time, money, and effort....... No added channels. Connected to two different tv's, one of which is already connected to a cheap antenna that brings in 23 channels, so it's not the TV's. Thought this would bring In more channels, but nada.

After much trial and error, I finally got to the point where I am mostly pleased with the performance of this antenna. I had to reposition and run a channel scan many times to arrive at the best configuration. However there are several channels that I receive on a flat antenna that I cannot get this one to receive even when located in the same place. It does hold a channel when moved around better than the flat antenna I have....

With all the bad information and false statements that surround TV antennas it is good to find one that is well designed and well built. It is a good passive antenna and mounted above our TV at about 8ft in our ground floor living room it picked up stations well out to about 35 miles from the towers, including VHF which most indoor antennas do not. Adding the included amp locked in the few that were a little weak. Do your homework and be realistic about what you can expect from an indoor antenna and you will be pleased with the performance of the Antop AT-500SBS. We are using with a fire tv recast.

Full disclosure - I live about 15 miles from downtown Chicago. My front window faces downtown, so I have a clear shot to the broadcast towers. That said, I was able to receive 90 channels with this antenna. That's about 25 more channels than I was getting on the HD "rabbit ears" antennas this replaced. I also liked the fact that I could connect a second device (in this case a Fire TV Recast, with a second rabbit ear antenna, that I use as my dvr since I cut the cable). Yes, this antenna is large, but I was able to replace two antennas that were taking up 3x the wall space behind the tv. The reason for the 4 stars - and that's being generous - is that this was supposed to come with two 5-ft coaxial cables for the two devices you can connect. I only got 1. There was no way that I could find to message the company, so I decided to "chat" with Amazon customer service to see about the second cable. First, they wanted me to send it back for a replacement. I said no, the antenna was fine. I didn't want to take the time/hassle of returning it. I just wanted the second cable. Then, I was told that they would just send a whole new antenna - no charge, no return necessary. Again, I said no. What am I going to do with 2 of these? I. JUST. WANTED. THE. SECOND. COAXIAL. CABLE. I thought that things were clear, but apparently not. When the chat finished not only did I find an order for a new antenna, I also got an email approving the return of the first one. So, apparently if you try to get cs chat to deviate from their script, they can't handle it and just follow their script regardless of the customer's wants/needs. Luckily, I was able to cancel the second antenna order online. I have no intention of returning this, unless it stops working within the return window. So, on top of the almost $90.00 (incl. tax) I spent on this antenna I now have to spend more and buy a coaxial cable that should have been in the box. They're cheap, but that's not the point. The antenna does give crystal clear local channels. It has better reception than the ones it replaced -- the only saving grace. As a lesson learned, I will NEVER do another cs "chat". From now on it will be person to person on the phone.

I went through 3 antennas to try to get the FOX entertainment/sports channel. I have a ledge in my living room that's 14 feet high in front of two clerestory windows. I placed the Antop-500SBS antenna on the ledge in front of one of the windows and pointed it toward the station. It pulled in all the channels I wanted- ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and PBS. along with about 40 more channels. The picture on my 4k TV was brilliant-- the same quality as streaming shows. I was able to save $90 a month after cancelling live stream TV. I highly recommend this model.

This is the third antenna we tried and the first one that worked in our living room. Happy to have found it.

This says it is good for apartments and will pull signals up to 80 miles. After spending 3 hours playing around with locations, etc. the best it could do was to pull in 6 channels within a 3 mile radius of the location!!!! My flimsy antenna gets 26 channels.
