I had one before and it worked well. I finally wore.it out. With no man around to open jars, it is just the thing for anyone who ever struggled with opening a jar. I had a jar one year and I finally caved and rebuilt this one. Im happy with it. It is a bit noisy but it's also quick so I just put my fingers in my ears while it pops.

Got this for my mom, who was having trouble with salsa jars. She was able to use it on the first try, and it even made her giggle! She went around opening new and resealed jars until I told her not to use up the batteries!

I have shoulder issues so thought I'd give this a try. With batteries installed you place it on top of the jar and press the big button on the top. The two sets of jaws begin closing in on both the lid and the sides of the jar. Sometimes I've had to hold it in place until the jaws gripped. Once they've clamped down, the unit begins to start trying to loosen the lid. Depending on how tight the lid is, the unit will sometimes just pop it quickly off, but other times it seems to really begin to bear down before it loosens the lid. There have been couple of times when it didn't seem to want to work on the next jar as the jaws wouldn't come together. Works best on dry jars. If you pull something from the refrigerator, you will need to ensure the jar is as dry as possible or the jaws might just slip.

This worked about a dozen times and now it won't turn off unless you remove the batteries. There is zero support for this except for self trouble shooting and none of those categories come close to the problem. Unfortunately I'm out of the return window and can't reach the company through Amazon. Would NOT recommend.

If you have weak hands like me, keep looking. I tried this on a jar of jelly this morning and it was a complete fail. I was so frustrated I almost cried because my hands hurt so much and I just wanted to eat. It's just not strong enough for real-world jars. I have a whole collection of failed openers now and sadly, this is just another one to add to the list. Still searching for something that actually works.

I purchased the jar opener for my elderly parents, who are struggling to open jars. And this product has certainly proved it self to solve the problem. My parents are thrilled and does the job with ease. My parents are so happy.

My wife has arthritis in her hands which make almost impossible to open even the easiest jar. With her new electric jar opener she has now got back a little bit of her independent in the kitchen.
