Landmann USA 25722 Outdoor Redford Fireplace 28", Black

I purchased this outdoor fireplace after reading many favorable reviews. It was easy to put together, taking about an hour. All of the screw holes lined up properly and this fireplace seems to be well made.The only minor issue I have with this purchase is that I also purchased the Veranda size XL fireplace cover that was shown on the "customers frequently purchased together..." bar on the webpage. Buyers should know: this cover does not fit on this fireplace! It is at least 6" too short to cover the unit.The Veranda cover is of good quality, and workmanship. It's just made by a different manufacturer and doesn't really fit on it properly. You can purchase a cover for the firepit directly from Landmann's website that is made for this unit. The information is in the manual that comes with the fireplace. I will be returning the cover I purchased from Amazon and buying one from Landmann that is designed to fit this unit. Other than that, I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to using it soon.

I was looking for a patio fireplace/chimenea with a little bit bigger firebox and enough chimney to minimize smoke inhalation when used on a breezy day, for not an arm and a leg. This unit was the closest to my ideal specs that I could find. Assembly was quite easy and the fit and finish are decent. I made some modifications to bring it closer to what I had wanted - adding steel legs to raise it up off the ground, a 2.5 foot sheet metal chimney extension, welding a real cast iron firegrate into the bottom pan - which took me a few hours and work quite well. My only remaining complaint is that the open sides of the firebox are a little too tall, allowing some smoke to escape instead of being funnelled up the chimney under certain conditions. A little more sheet metal work will fix that. Now if the Landman folks can incorporate those changes into a stock unit, I'll give the next one 5 stars when I replace this one in a few years.

Pros:1. Better quality construction than expected for price (e.g., holes lined up, parts fit, etc.).2. Around 50lbs so sold enough weight3. Instructions recommended adding sand to burn pan to enhance longevityCons:1. Doors *almost* close but bow out slightly and are held closed by latch, without which, they would pop open.2. Chimney cap doesn't allow enough airflow so it will not draw the smoke / combined with open sides = lots of smoke everywhere. We opted for a model with a chimney thinking it would direct the smoke better than an open firepit. We were wrong.3. B/c of the open sides, there isn't a lot of heat projected to people around. It's nice to look at, but don't expect it to have the radiant warmth of sitting near a roaring fire.

We researched quite a few fireplaces and selected this model based on its design and other reviews. The box arrived in good shape and my husband commenced to assembling it. The assembly took twice as long as noted in the instructions mainly because one needs to read the instructions BEFORE assembling the thing, and some of the drill holes and pieces didn't quite fit together easily. The unit is more lightweight than we expected. It looks great on our patio, and I think it will be a great fireplace for late spring and summer fires. It's late Fall here in Illinois now, and honestly the fires are not that warm.We will continue to experiment with different wood-types. So far, pinion wood burning in this fireplace smells wonderful.Overall, we're pleased to have the fireplace. I did order a cover to protect the unit when it's not in use.

It was a great value. But it is not durable for the long haul. We use a fire pit quite hard in nice weather. This material is middle of the road caliber. Not trying to put this item down. But carbon steel will not hold up to high temperatures. It quite beautiful and we have enjoyed it so far. Just make sure to cover it when not in use.

Got this for my wife for her Birthday. We love it. My only real complaint is that the doors don't seem to close flat, they bow out a little bit, but they come with a poker which helps close it w/out burning yourself. Also taking away a little bit because if there is too much smoke, it comes out the side.. Be sure to read the reviews which say which way to mount it. Actually read all the instructions first, and see how the roof mounts, and how the base mounts.. Once you see that, you should be able to put the sides on the right way up, and the front/back the right way up..

I have had quite a few fires in this so far, so good. It is not high quaility materials or heavy duty, but what do you want for this price? I am satisfied with it. You should not use it when it is windy or slightly windy, the fire fans all over the place and the ashes blow all over as well. I am thinking of getting some rolled tin and use tin snips to cut out some panels to place inside the fireplace on 3 sides to maybe contain the fire and ash when there is a breeze. That is my only complaint, but that is not the products fault, just an observation that i have made so far. (I orginally liked the design so people sitting around the fireplace could be warm since the heat would radiate on all sides, not a problem with no breeze or wind).

Nice fire pit / stove. Went together easily and so far has worked well for us.I expect that over time that it will need to be re-painted...but that is true of all of these types of stoves.I will wrap in a tarp and put under the deck for the winter to help try to preserve it.

Arrivé avec une grosse tache de rouille sur le devant.. Pour le prix, je me serais attendu à ne pas en avoir. Mais après sablage et peinture, nous l’avons finalement utilisé pour la première fois. Bonne grandeur et les 2 portes nous laisse beaucoup d’espace pour ajouter du bois.
