Tesla Model 3 Automatic Trunk Lift Supports Rear Trunk Struts with Spring and Stainless Steel Washer (SET OF TWO) V2.0 [Upgraded]**Problem - Usually after shopping for groceries, after the gym, or shopping, my hands are full of bags and such and it's hard to get the Tesla trunk. I hate to keep my bags on the ground (OCD).**Researching for a solution: Checked out several YouTube videos of the auto truck lift devices, and finally decided to order one off Amazon.**Amazon order - After researching a bit, I decided to go with Basenor Trunk lift (cost-effective, good 5-star ratings, and I have purchased other products from this vendor/manufacturer for my Tesla and they have all worked out great.**Shipping and delivery - Amazon took a handful of days from order to deliver the product. The product came in a slim yellow package inside a large box.**Contents of the package - the package contained two identical spring struts and printed instructions.**Installation - I quickly went through the printed installation instructions, but still was a tad confused. I used the QR code and saw a few YouTube videos on the installation. After watching the YouTube videos, I got my two flat head screwdrivers. One large, one small. This could be a two-person job, it will help to have another person to hold the trunk after both the OEM struts are removed. However, I used my big noggin and rested the heavy trunk on my head after the OEM struts were removed. It was a bit difficult balancing the trunk and removing the OEM and fitting the new trunk struts. However, I was able to get it all done with 10 minutes.**Ease of install - 10 minutes once you know and understand what you are doing, and it will help to have a second person to hold the trunk up.TIPS:** Use the smaller flat head screw to pull the circular piece that looks like a ring and use the larger screw to push from the back. Once you can see the metal ball underneath, use your hand to pull out the OEM strut.** To remove OEM - Remove the top one first, and then the bottom one comes out easy.** To install new struts - install the bottom one first and then the top (basically reverse of OEM)** Remove both the OEMs fully and then install both the new struts fully.** Make sure there is enough clearance before opening the trunk in the garage so you don't hit the garage door.** Don't stand close or else it will pop open in your face.** Use the packaging in which your new struts came in with instructions, so you can save your OEM ones in this package. At a later time, if you change your mind and want to go back to OEM trunk struts you'll have the handy instructions. Also, I'd suggest keeping the OEM ones in the car somewhere so it does not get lost in case you need it in the future.Bottom line: The product is easy to install and works as advertised. Trunk closing with the new trunk lifts becomes a bit hard. It needs an extra-strength push-down, but not too bad. Maybe an extra 10% force than OEM ones. I give it a solid 5 stars!

A decent upgrade, but not the convenient functionality I was hoping for.
I purchased this kit because, on face value, I wanted a push-button automatic open trunk that didn't require any severe modifications to my 3, and wanted something relatively inexpensive.Ultimately, this kit works. I can open my trunk (if I'm willing to wait) and never have to touch it. This is particularly useful if I've just parked up at home, and I'm not in a hurry. Also, it's nice to not have to lift the trunk open from a completely shut position when carrying groceries or with dirty hands - I can just use my elbow to help it the rest of the way up.However, there are lots of downsides here. This combination of springs and shocks makes the trunk difficult to close with one hand without slamming it. Additionally, while they do work, the new shocks are INCREDIBLY slow. Even if I open my trunk from the screen inside the car, or while walking up from over 20 ft away using the app, I still have to wait for the trunk open, or push it open all the way with my hand. The stock vehicle shocks weren't this slow and didn't resist opening this much. I have two other friends who ordered this same kit, and both experienced this exact problem, so it's extremely unlikely that my shocks are defective.Springs are another issue - they're far too stiff. The springs themselves allow the trunk to pop open during the initial actuation, and let the shocks take over, which is a great idea (though in a proper production solution, the springs would be integrated into the shock). I can't complain about springs not being integral to the shock, considering how cheap this kit was. However, the combination of springs and shocks, even after over six months of use, have not gotten soft enough to allow me to close the trunk easily. I can do it with one hand, but I have to firmly close it / borderline slam it shut. I've readjusted my trunk's factory spacers to allow it to close more easily, but if I make the spacers too loose the trunk will "resonate" on the highway and make it nearly impossible to be inside the car without your eardrums rupturing. So, I'm stuck with an irritating slam every time I shut the trunk (or, the trunk will "surprise" you and spring back open!)All in all, while I appreciate having a trunk that pops open, even if slowly, this isn't ideal. It'll still be far less useful than the powered trunk like the model S and the 2021 model 3 have. If I had to do this again, I might consider a DIY solution instead, or just living with the stock trunk. Right now, I'm still considering a DIY solution where I toss out the springs that came with this kit and get softer springs that don't make it so irritating to close.

Lasted about two years
It opens the trunk great, but only lasted about two years before one of them broke. The other is close to breaking as well

Very easy to install, but very slow to open
These were way easier to install than I expected. I had watched various videos online about installing them and found it much easier than depicted, once I figured out how to access the ball release. You just pop off the old ones and snap on the new ones. Most of the videos recommended a second person to help, but I didn't have any issues with doing it myself as they're easy to take off or put on one-handed. The only real complaint I have is that it takes a very long time for the trunk to complete the lift - it pops open quickly, but takes 10+ seconds to reach full extension (it was not cold when I tried - mid 60's probably). It's not so much an issue if you pop the trunk from the screen or the mobile app, but is mildly annoying when you use the button on the trunk to do so. Closing force is a bit more than the original struts, especially just before closing, but that's both expected and doesn't really bother me. I don't see any deformation or changes to the panel gaps on the trunk after installation, but I didn't really look at the before case to compare.

Disapointing
The quality seems good, however it does not perform well at all.If you're a DIY type person then installation is simple. If you're not very handy it might be a little tricky getting installed, but should be manageable. I recommend you google it and watch installation videos.Once installed, when you release the trunk latch the trunk will fly open very quickly for about the first 18 inches of movement, it's quite jarring, if you're not careful you could smack yourself in the face, that force is produced by the springs. Then the rest of the opening depends on the dampeners, but they're just too weak to open the rest of the way on their own, so I have to manually apply upward force to get the trunk to fully open, if I don't push it, the trunk lid just sits there only half way open.It takes significant force to push the trunk closed now. More force than I feel should be needed. The original lifts didn't do a great job, but these are worse. I wouldn't recommend them. :(

Pistoncini baule

Really stiff to close.
Installation was 15 mins and relatively easy. However, the springs are really stiff and I worry about wear on the latch and torsion on the trunk. Not 100% sold.
