Try vinegar first.
While I was waiting for the aerator to be delivered I followed Carruth 1's review and soaked the clogged aerator in white vinegar for two days. It worked like a champ! So, I will try to cancel delivery.Also, the description is inaccurate. This is not a Grohe product. The word Grohe is nowhere evident on the product or package.

It fits perfectly (the size is a standard) and works well, but this isn't a Grohe product. The little package it comes in has 6 or more brand names slapped on it as 'compatible', not including Grohe.

Perfect fit for Grohe bathroom faucet
This aerator / flow control insert wasn't easy to track down. I have a Grohe Seabury bathroom sink faucet and the aerator that came with it was irreparably clogged. The old one didn't look exactly like this one, so I was concerned, but it popped right in and greatly improved the water flow, even from using the faucet without a flow control. Very happy with this product.
