Damn nice boots
Alright, so, I haven't had a pair of boots since I was like, OK, well, let's just say it was pretty much 30 years ago. Remember when America loved country in the mid-nineties? Y'know, before Shania and Carrie, and Reba was the hottest woman in Country Music? Yeah, that era. So, it's been a minute. Why did I come back to this? Hell if I know, honestly, but, here I am, lifting weights, wearing camo and talking to God - just seemed like this was where things were headed and I embraced it.So I got the boots.Which, again, I have no real frame of reference, so, if you've had boots in the last 30 years, we probably have different expectations. Was I prepared for how soft the leather was? Nope, but, it's damn nice. Flares out my boot cut jeans a bit more than I was imagining, but I assume that'll change as we age together.Putting 'em on . . Again, I'm used to sneakers that I keep loose-laced and can slip on. Taking whole minutes to literally shove my foot in was not what I was expecting, but, understandable.Once I got into 'em, I understood why it was suggested to go half size down and one step wider. They're a little tighter than I'm used to across the top, but I think that'll loosen up with some more time in 'em, too. The half step down in size and going wider was clutch - they fit very well. The insole is also pretty comfy, looks like a memory foam kinda deal.Color is pretty accurate from the pictures, I've attached my own real-world example. They're definitely a square toe, which, I personally believe is more appropriate for men, and bottom line, they look right under jeans, where they should be. Your toes obviously aren't gonna fit all the way to the end, but I don't feel like I'm wearing clown shoes, either.Outsole felt pretty tacky at first blush, which was unexpected, but a welcome detail. I'm not worried about slipping in these, despite having a boot heel I'm not used to. Doing a few laps in the driveway, looking like I'm learning to walk, again, help mold 'em to my feet. So, in conclusion, I'm finna pop the tags and give these a fresh coat to make 'em mine - I'm keeping 'em and looking forward to many years in these boots.TLDR: color is pretty accurate, go half size down and one step wider, and you should be fine. Everything else is preference.

Totally happy with the boots / My spin on size selection for Rambler
First off the boots look and feel fantastic and are well made. The soft flexible upper and outside seams make them very comfortable. My college frat boy son is 21 and he went crazy over them and wants a pair exactly like them.Ok for the size issue. The Rambler has a square toe which is about a half size more room in the toe area, than the size would be normally.I wear a 9 D in all my casual and/or tennis shoes, but all my dress shoes are either a 8 ½ D or 8 ½ E. I also have a pair of Dan Post snake skin boots from the 80s and they are 8 ½ D as well. So if you are like me and wear a couple different sizes, base your purchase on a dress shoe size….then adjust. Now, for picking the size. Like I said, I based the size on my dress shoe size of 8 ½ D, then I ordered ½ size smaller and with the EE (8EE). I was really concerned with ordering the 8 EE, but saw too many reviews saying to step down ½ size and get the wide EE. I have never worn an 8 in any shoe, but it was a perfect snug fit with long dress socks. Wore them around the house inside so I could return them if I had to.Well after three days, they are really feeling good, still a little snug on arch on my left foot but not to and extreme. They don’t look or feel like a size 8 either, they look like a size 9 or larger from the appearance. So I agree with other on the Rambler: ½ size down and EE is perfect.

Nice boots, half-size down recommended
I got the wicker color, a really nice brown color. Nice leather. Shaft is the same leather it seems as the rest of the boot.I had size 11s, but there was too much heel play. I returned and got a 10.5. I usually get a 11 in dress shoes and a 11.5 in running shoes. Nice length in the foot. You’ll need to break them in to get them on & off. Would recommend if you’re looking at Western boots.

Instep Makes Putting On Boots Hard. UPDATE 8/31/17
This is the first pair of Ariat boots I have bought. These boots are sweet and they look great! I ordered the earth brown color size 15D. My other pair of boots are a size 16D and they fit a little large so I decided to go with a 15D because Ariat's have been known to run big and Amazon recommended I get a 15D. In running shoes, I wear a 16-17 depending on the brand and I'm 6'5 and my feet are not considered wide. When I put the boots on, it is really hard to put them on and to slide my foot in. I have to wiggle my foot and pull really hard on the pull straps to get them on. Once they are on, the instep is a bit tight, but the length and overall size is good and my foot feels secure and comfortable in my boots (besides the instep being kind of tight). I am hoping the more I wear them the looser they will become and the easier they will be to put on. Surprisingly, it is easy to take them off.I like the feel of the shaft being all leather. I always wear ankle socks and so far I have not experienced and uncomfortable rubbing, scraping, or discomfort.I am giving these boots 3 stars because they are hard to put on. Otherwise, they are great looking boots and the color is a little lighter than the picture in the ad. I will try to update this review as I "break in" these boots.UPDATE 8/31/17It took over a month but I can finally put these boots on without using a shoe horn. They are more broken in and they feel good. I changed this review to 4 stars from 3 because they fit better now but they are still tight on the top of my foot and still somewhat hard to put on. These boots are still badass and I get compliments on them all the time!
