I ordered both a Large and XL. The Large fit but was a little more snug than I preferred. But the XL was smaller/tighter than the Large! So I returned the XL. I thought maybe it was a fluke and ordered another XL but again it was smaller/tighter than the Large. Since I need an Alice costume pretty soon, I've kept the Large. It will do for what I need but I do you want to say that the quality is not the finest, as others have indicated. But I don't think I expected it to be at the price. My biggest complaint though is that the back of the dress uses two velcro spots and a tie at the top of the neck for closure. This really isn't ideal since the apron does not cover the back and so you can see in the back that it is just fastened together by velcro. Since it is slightly snug on me, as I mentioned, this means that the velcro could pop open if I shifted the wrong way here or there, not to mention that you could also see some of my back in between the velcro spots. The tie at the neck also felt and looked awkward. So I asked someone who is good with alterations to change it to a zipper and button for me. That makes it work for me now. It paired it with white tights, black mary jane shoes and a black headband and I am good to go, even though it still feels slight snug. I wish the XL size had worked out to actually be larger than the Large.

Received this costume yesterday and I LOVE it! Be careful of the sizing! As is the norm with Halloween costumes, they run VERY small! I wear a size 6-8 jeans and usually a medium in tops and ordered an XL. It fits perfectly. It comes in two parts, the blue satin dress with lace trim, and the apron. The apron is HUGE! I can loop it twice around my waist, BUT it does therefore have the potential to get the perfect fit. I will be pinning the straps. It is a very flat costume, and to get that real "alice look" I ordered a leg avenue knee length petticoat which gave it that gorgeous poof shape. If you do not wear a petticoat, it will sit probably just below your knee (I'm 5"6). The back of the dress ties at the top like a hospital gown, with three velcro fastenings down the back, the skirt section has no openings but to be safe, I will be either adding a zipper, or pinning it shut as it will gap if I do not. Overall its beautiful, comfortable and appropriate, not hoochy at all, which is good, considering I will be wearing this to a party with about 300 kids and senior citizens!

This dress is as shown. Generally I wear a size medium somewhere between an 8 and 10, but I ordered extra large because the other reviews said it ran small. It runs very small. I realized the problem is they don't accommodate for a woman's figure. If you wear a bra size of C or greater the bodice fits very tight. If you're small chested, it should be fine. It's a very nice costume and I would recommend it but on a larger chested person you will have to figure out how to accommodate for that. I also bought a petticoat as recommended on another review and that does make a difference!

I bought this a couple years ago for a Halloween party at college. I didn't want to wear anything slutty and I had the hardest time finding a modest Halloween costume. I am 5 feet 3 in. and the dress fit me for the most part. The length was down to my knees and so I was very happy about that. I have a small bust and short torso, so the apron straps were too big and long, but it wasn't a huge problem. I just adjusted with some safety pins. It is very thin fabric and so I also wore white tights and a short slip under the dress. But overall, not a bad costume. I hope to wear it again one day :)

This is a good costume for modest Alice, Wendy, and what I am using it for- Grady Twin from the shining. I also dressed as Wendy from Peter Pan. See my pictures. I wore a slip, tucked in the collar, you can take off the apron and you should pin it in the back to keep it closed and make it smaller. Now for the sizing, order one size larger and see my picture. I usually wear a size 4 dress. I am 5'8, 130lbs, and wear a size 27 Jean, small or medium shirt. I ordered a Large after reading 30 reviews. Good call, fits perfect.

The apron was a bit big & the dress was snug. It said it was XL, size 12 to14, but I think it fits more like a 12. The apron is very cute & nicely made, and the dress has a very cute petticoat underneath it (attached) that is well made & helps the skirt stand out more. I really like it, but the Velcro does catch easily on the satin fabric. So beware, it snags fairly easily. I was able to wear it, just pinned the apron to make it fit better & added a little extra material & Velcro to the back to make it less snug.

Exactly what I needed.It's a bit see-through, so you'll have to put something under it. I am wearing a very small dress with a tulle skirt under the costume to make it a little puffier and less see-through.The length on a small is great for me (I'm just an inch or two over five feet tall). My only complaint is that it was really wrinkled when it showed up. It's definitely not the highest quality gown and the back closes with velcrow and a tie like a hospital gown. However, for the price and the timeframe, it's very cute for the two or three Halloween parties I am attending.

I have mixed feelings. Do some of the reviewers know how tall they REALLY are? I am 5'6" to the millimeter and this dress is above my knee. I was hoping it would be two inches longer. The blue fabric is see through but with an under tee it is perfect and the apron covers the dress in the front anyway. The apron is decent quality but baggy. I am a size 2, 128 pounds, and chose a medium after reviewers recommendations and it works for me. A small might have been a bit too tight in the chest. I went to Walmart's fabric dept. and bought some tulle in the exact blue of the costume and am making a slip to give the dress some fullness. I'm ready for Halloween!
