Awesome kit!!
I felt i had to leave a couple negative reviews recently so im thrilled to get this amazing kit and leave some genuinely positive feedback!! It was packaged great by amazon and the kit itself seems nice and sturdy. The contents inside are very extensive, and the trauma pack and book really make this kit stand out from others of different brands. I added a small flashlight and DONE!! I feel that although it isnt cheap, its totally worth the cost. I highly recommend!!

Well thought out; excellent quality
Excellent and well thought out kit. I can find no fault with this more advanced first aid kit. This kit gives you the ability to address injuries that exceed small cuts and scratches. Supplement with CELOX packets and Lidocaine burn gel/pads and you have a truly capable kit. I did that and also added a dental first aid kit (same brand) and consider my kit far above your typical kit.

Decent, but additions needed
As a family practice resident in my final year who does a lot with outdoor activities such as camping/hiking and sporting events I looked long and hard into a few medical kits to purchase for possible needs. This is a good kit to have to start with preparing a more comprehensive medical kit for a car or camping outing, or even for use in a bug out bag. I purchased this to place in my bug out bag for the trunk of my car in case of emergencies. For the size of the kit, very small and compact to fit in a daypack without losing room for other items, they have placed a good deal of products into it. I do like that the trauma pack can be separated from the rest of the medical kit. a good way to save on room if wanting to add more inside. I love that this kit comes with a quickclot pad. Also maybe the best addition (which probably played a big role in my deicision to buy) was the Medical Guide Book in this kit. Very nice to have on hand. Having training in treatment of wounds helps me greatly, but if I'm the one needing help and someone with me doesn't have the experience it is great to know this can aid them. Also, good for refreshers for myself to read ("repetition is key to mastery" as I was always told)There were things that I needed to add to this kit to make worthy of taking out of the house, which I have not found a kit that was lacking in some effect for the cost of less than a few hundred dollars, so I was not surprised. I added suture packs and suture scissors to the trauma part of the kit as well as packets of aloe and burn creams. Also, for medication aspects I added small bottle packs of extra strength acetaminophen (tylenol) and Ibuprofen for pain relief needs to last for dosing for 1-2 people for at least 1-2 week's time. Also adding diarrhea relief medication and nausea medication to last the same time limit. This did push the limits of the compact case, but I was able to fit it in. As a former scout and current physician I always try to plan ahead for problematic scenarios. Also adding in a few more gauze/trauma pads and sterile cleansers to help clean possible wounds was part of my addition. I have in either my bug out bag or my camping pack a SAM splint at all times so I was not disheartened when this was not part of the kit.All in all I feel that this case was a fair buy especially for the size of the kit and a few items already in it; but I am sure there are still a few things that I need to equip into this planned kit, which may or may not fit because of the compact size, possibly needing to have a spare med bag to place the "trauma section" and use this compact part as the "medical section" of the kit. I would recommend this product to people knowing that you are going to need to add to this for more comprehensive coverage for more than a day or two, but that I feel is something seen with most kits I have found. Happy I purchased this kit.

Trauma kit offers good peace of mind when I am out hunting
Small, lightweight, complete. Contained everything my wife & I needed for many trips to the woods. Trauma kit offers good peace of mind when I am out hunting. Haven't needed it (thankfully), but better to have it and not need it. Added some extra burn gel, tape, and a few odds and ends to treat minor wounds the dog might pick up.

Great buy
This kit pretty much has everything. I put in a few other things such as a big tube of antibiotic cream and more meds and took out a few things that were a bit bulky. A great starter pack. It pretty much has everything. It also has a great book about outdoor medicine.

Item was used…
I received this item today and load and behold it’s been used. Since I requested a return on this I will be responsible for part of the return shipping cost. It’s unfortunate this has happened because I was needing it for a fishing trip coming up in two days.

Great med kit
Wanted a med kit for my Bug Out Bag that would not take up a lot space in the bag, and also provide a good range of first aid materials for a variety of first aid needs, including serious open wounds. This first aid kit does just that. I did add an Israeli bandage, but this first aid kit has bandages and gauze pads that will cover injuries, and includes Quikclot ...

Good but not Great Medical Kit
The Bighorn Kit by Adventure Medical Kits is a decent emergency kit packed with many useful first aid supplies such as a Quikclot pad, one-way CPR face shield, triangle bandage, and wound closure strips. Possibly the best item is the Wilderness & Travel Medicine Guide book - it's very informative in a small compact size. The big downside however are that the sterile bandages and pads as well as the one-way CPR face shield are made in China; likely to keep costs down. A secondary downside is the kit lacks true family trauma or burn capabilities. Simply adding a SAM splint (hiking sprain or break) or Water Jel bandage (campfire accident) would bring this kit to four out of five stars even with the sterile pads and bandages being made in China. Overall, I will be happy with kit after purchasing some additional items to make the kit a true family travel emergency medical kit.
