The painting wraps around the whole mug and ends at the handle. Yet it's not the same as the picture on my mug, because the painting does not reach from top to bottom, there is a little bit of white showing before the mug ends. I still like it, but it's not the exact replica of the image on Amazon.

This mug is a perfect size for tea or coffee. And art is my passion.

I had one just like it over a year and used it nearly every day. The picture never faded despite many washings...only reason I ordered another is the first was knocked off counter and chipped.

Was a hit last Christmas. My gal loved it. The picture on it seemed to be apart of the glaze so I’m not worried about it coming off in wash. Shiny and well crafted.
