ArchiCAD for AutoCAD Users Paperback – July 11, 2011

As a new user to ArchiCAD, I found the tutorials in this edition (2010) to still be very helpful even though I am working in version 16. Although there are many tutorials on the ArchiCAD site, call me old fashion, but sometimes it is nice to just pick up a book and look something up quickly without going to the web. This book goes over basic ArchiCAD model building so it was still applicable. I think it says s a lot about the company in that they are very consistent in their BIM programming methodology.

Worth money. Better than any online tutorial. Handy to have at desk for reference while learning ArchiCAD.

Very handling for entry level

when i bought this book i had no archicad knowledge. but it took me only a day to read it and use many of its tips. contains straight foward information on the sw operation to make you get control of what you are doing.

its a good book but i think its to expensive , has only superficial information to someone ho already knows the software, to a new user maybe its more use full!

BUT IT WILL NEVERTHELESS PROVE HELPFUL AS i EMBARK ON MY SEARCH FOR THE DISCOVERY SMART BIM: AN INTERACTIVE GUIDE TO ARCHICAD

Nice book, very practice oriented, will help you familiarize with Archicad and break through the "being-stuck and useless" feeling in front of an Archicad window when coming from Autocad (8 years practice). It guides you through the concepts of Archicad and permits you (knowing and understanding what you have to search for) to fully use the Users Reference Guide included with Archicad (which is quite opaque if you want to start reading it from the first page).This book may not be absolutely necessary when passing from Acad to Archicad but it will surely speedup the process.Best Regards,
