Yes I have painted 4 of them using a can gloss spray in bright yellow for the outer blades. On the inside of the blades I did one coat of a semi gloss interior house paint as a base coat. Then I used 8 vibrant colors of the rainbow of an Acrylic paint in 2 ounce bottles I bought at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. After painting the inside blades with the rainbow colors in order of the rainbow with 3 coats each blade. I finished with spraying them with a Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating to protect and seal the colors. When you see the sunflower spin it is very colorful to watch.

Just need to make sure it's anchored in the ground good
