Audio Fidelity is proud to introduce something new in the realm of compilation albums - for the first time ever we have assembled the original masters of some of the rocks biggest stars and greatest hits and remastered these classics for Hybrid SACD. Our collection is based on the original TimeLife Legends series. With our first two titles, Crank It Up! and Get It On! we have taken each volume of recordings to another sonic level. You have never heard a hits collection of such consistently high standards. It's like hearing these classic hits for the first time. Great Sampling of SACD Classics
I like the idea of a compilation disc for SACD. I own many of the CDs that include these songs already, so it is nice to have an avenue to compare these new remastered hi-res versions to the original CDs . This allows me to see if it's worth the cost to repurchase the individual SACDs from each of these artists. I'm sure this is Audio Fidelity's intent as well. The production quality of the "original" music varied widely since some are from the 60s, while some songs are from the 80s. In that respect, there's only so much improvement you can expect on a track like Good Lovin' by the rascals. Most of the songs on this SACD sound a fair amount better than their CD equivalents, but in some cases, not drastically. The one exception here is Listen to the Music by the Doobies. This song absolutely floored me when I heard it on this SACD. Clarity, impact, soundstage were just amazing. I'm thinking the other Doobie Brothers SACD releases will be on the radar now for future purchases.

and I liked this interpretation of Nights in White Satin too
You probably already have all these songs. If you're an audiophile, this is still worth buying. The improvements are not subtle, especially on the older songs. The Chicago song that opens the album and the Moody Blues song that closes it are the "long versions." I have several audiophile recordings of the Moody Blues Days of Future Passed, and I liked this interpretation of Nights in White Satin too. Clearly, this album is a labor of love by people who love this music.

Great Sounding Comp
Great sounding hybrid SACD. The midrange is silky smooth and the bottom end presence makes every song really rock. All around great package which sounds great in my car or in my SACD player at home. Plus, you get the original stereo mix of "Nights in White Satin" in PCM stereo and DSD stereo. Worth the price of the disc right there.

Great disc, best stereo I have ever heard with these songs.
For anyone who is looking for MULIT CHANNEL SOUND, FORGET IT!!! This doesn't have that. However it does have one of the cleanest recordings I have river heard. Not tinny, not fake sounding, but clean clear sound. Like someone actually took the time when it was recorded, to get every facit of the sound. However all that was one was to clean up the master tape, and make it sound like it did before it left for pressing of the original vinyl! Crisp, clean, clear, and far better than any other copy's of these songs I have wether it's vinyl, or CD. It would have been wonderful to have heard these songs in room filling stereo surround, but that is only a small complaint. This disc is a great addition to ones I already have, and look forward to taking an hour again soon, and just enjoying the sound quality of this well transformed little slice of heaven.

Great Collection of Classic Rock
This is great collection of classic rock songs. Including long versions of Chicago's "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is". Also The Moody Blues's "Nights In White Satin/Late Lament ". The Zombie's "Time Of The Season". The audio quality is excellent if played on a decent system. You can't go wrong with this ! DJ Berexa Pgh, PA

Three Stars
Sound quality was not very good considering it was remastered.

Remembering the '60s and '70s is EASIER with this. CRANK IT UP to 11!
Eighteen "Far out, man!" jams on a compact disc. Wow!HIGHLY recommended by THIS 68-year-old '68 highschool graduate.

Not happy with this PCM-CD
Good list of songs that I grew up with, but it is not a multi-channel SACD. It only plays PCM stereo on my Oppo BDP-103, very disappointing for the expense.
