Good protection for a reasonable price
I bought these as sparring gear in my Tang Soo Do class. They offer good protection and comfort at a reasonable price. For those martial artist that have been using cheap dipped foam sparring gear I highly suggest stepping up to shinguards such as these as they are far superior to the old school foam dipped stuff.

Great Protection
Love these. The Muay Thai kicks were hurtin and causing bumps on my shins. I absolutely feel nothing when I use these. Serves as great protection.

Updated: The pads are great, and company support is great
I really want to say I like these. The pads are great, and they are comfortable. However, a month after having these and the foot strap (Not the ankle strap) on the left foot has already started to rip from the pad.It is worth mentioning that I use these moderately, 30 minutes a day for bag training, so I'm not running these through the ringer doing any hardcore training with it. That being said, I would have expected the straps to hold out a little longer. So, good pads, you feel virtually nothing. Bad quality straps.Updated Review: Contacted RDX support about this issue, and they had no problem resolving it. Great product, great support.

I've tried 4 different shin guards and these are the best I've owned!
I've tried the expensive Hayabusa's and returned them for these! I have 2 other pairs of shin guards as well, including another RDX pair that are too square and roll. These are the best I've tried so far, they fit perfect and they do not roll when I kick as hard as I can. Can't rave enough about these. I also like how the straps are designed, they allow for a snug fit. Super comfortable too, and the instep covers almost all of my size 11 feet. And the instep has a nice amount of padding as well. Also they are made of leather and seem really tough and well made.

Good but not great
Really nice quality, the shin section does a great job and I am happy with how it wraps around my leg and how the straps keep it secure. It stays in place and does a great job protecting my shins when someone throws their leg at me with reckless abandon.the bad however is the bottom foot straps and the foot covering. I have had these a very short time, only using for sparring and some fight training, and the elastic straps are already starting to rip out. The foot cover goes too far forward, even though I have very big feet (insert joke here), and they scrape against my big toes. It's so annoying I often play with my feet while in the middle of sparring.Overall I have been very pleased with my recent RDX gear and would probably try a different pair of their shinpads.

... padding and fit of the leg guards is very good, but the foot straps are inadequate and easily ...
The padding and fit of the leg guards is very good, but the foot straps are inadequate and easily tear. Unfortunately, if the foot straps tear, the shin guards are rendered unusable. I was very happy with the performance and feel during my training session, but the straps began to tear after only one intensive training session. If the straps can be reinforced for daily training, this product would receive five stars. I cannot recommend this to anyone that engages in sparring because they will quickly experience the same results that I had after a few serious training sessions.

Snug fit but working out well
Pads are a little stiff and has a strong leather smell out of the box. After a few sessions they feel good. I bought large to accommodate larger calves and they fit snugly.

Good product that has one flaw that excludes a great review
These are what I have been expecting from RDX. They absorb and distribute impact very well. They are comfortable and cover me from toe to knee. They really need better heel and in step straps. They were a let down on their lesser model and a let down here. RDX should do better. It can but is not and that is a choice that they made. These could be exceptional but their heel strap and strap are horrible. They are still good and worth the price.

Just spend a little extra
These were my first pair or Muay Thai / Kickboxing shin guards, I have now upgraded and I can honestly say that you should not buy them, you should spend a little extra and get a proper Thai brand. I got a pair of Sandee shin guards in a sale. they approx the same price as these, but the protection they provide is so much greater. This is always the case with RDX gear, its ok, looks ok, its cheap but it lacks in the most important area, protection and shock absorption!!!I used them for around 3 years of semi regular use, i would regularly mess up my shins blocking kicks, having kicks checked, they are just inadequate for proper use.spend the extra Β£20 and get a proper pair. you wont regret it

Top Notch
These are really good shin pads. They feel horrible at first as they feel very stiff and clunky, but once they bed in after a couple of wears they are excellent. The padding is very deep at the front and the leather sides come well round the side of your lower legs. They don't slip round at all during training and stay firmly in place even during heavy sparing. The straps are quite short like the other reviewer says but once they are strapped up you don't have to touch them again. The only negative is that the elastic strap at the back of the heel is very tight to get over your foot, but once in place the instep pads don't budge at all. These are simply the best pads available regardless of price.

Typical RDX
RDX is known for their superior quality and these shin guards are no exception. These are truely great shin pads.As with all leather products, it takes a while for them to break in, but once they do, you'll be glad that you purchased them. The padding is great on both the shin and the foot area. I do sometimes feel that it's too much, but I'd rather have too much padding than too little, especially whilst I'm conditioning my shins. Having said that, it's not excessive as you can still feel your kicks land on your opponent, which is exactly what you want. The only negative point is that the elastic strap on the right leg is easy to get around my foot, but the left is alot harder. I believe that they have been cut in different sizes, but it's not a big deal as once they are on, they are on and there no issues. If you're thinking about getting a pair, I'd recommend that you get one size smaller than what you measure. I wish I had done that.

best leg protectors :)
i've had lot of injuries over the years caused by protection not being upto the job --- that just isn't the case with these RDX protectors there built to last they absorb the impact meaning that there is no chance of getting injured whilst wearing them :) the material is spot on :) they been designed and made in an over engineered way which i really like :) they very easy to use with the elastic and velcro closures being very secure and offering a really nice tight fit :)i love these :) 10/10 :)
