This Dorman air intake hose replacement solved the issue I had with cracks in a 10 year old original hose in a Mazda MPV van. The cracks in the original hose caused the vehicle to fail the CA emissions test and the shop wanted $$$ to replace it. I bought this online and put it in myself. It was an easy install and fit perfectly and solved the emission problem. In my experience, Dorman makes pretty good aftermarket parts.

Fixed our 2005 Mazda MPV LX! Matched the OEM part perfectly. Our MPV had a split in the old hose which was creating many related problems like a low oil pressure light (air leak caused low idle) and CEL (check engine light). The split was very hard to see and the computer diagnostics wasn't helping either. We just purchased this new/old MPV and this will be the first thing to check if the CEL returns. The original intake hose was so hard you couldn't hardly change the air filter. The new Dorman hose was very flexible in comparison.

Was a little larger on the throttle body end than the original, but the clamp closed it up tight. Actually made installation easier like that. Would recommend.

My moms Mazda MPV 2003 begin power surging and burning up so much gas and the check engine light came on for lean exhaust code, I found a big hole in this hose in her car. I asked about parts stores, but they wanted like $80. but I found this part for $17 and $8 shipping and handling you can't beat that, now her car is running fine again

Fixed P2189 error due to a crack on the rubber intake hose on 2005 Mazda MPV. Installation took about 30 minutes using basic hand tools. I also replaced air filter and clean MAF sensor using CRC cleaner. Check this first if you failed your state emission test.
