This is a t-type band. All you need is a very narrow screwdriver and small pliers.. Plenty of videos online. Takes maybe 5 minutes. Shortened mine today with no problems,

how long is a Citizen watch supposed to work? I bought mine 4 years ago and it quit working, I have had the movement replaced twice.

I would check with the manufacturer. My husband has only had the battery replaced. Other than that it has worked well, even with rough wear.
