Really good, would recommend
The coolest thing in my tool room. Very powerful, great battery life. I use it for things I probably shouldn't because it has the power to tighten bolts until they break. I bought it for a couple of campers we have to lower the stabilizers. A few are very difficult with the hand tool but this thing takes all of the work out.

This Wrench Wow'd Me!
This arrived the day before writing this. I have used many pneumatic tools over the years and this was life changing. Yesterday, straight out of the box with no additional charge I took this out to my 22 year old jeep with original suspension and easily took it apart. No bolt or nut was any match for this. I read a lot on the DCF880 model rated at 150 ft-lbs and opted for this due to the extra oomph of 400 ft-lbs. It was a steal at under $300 including a carry bag, two batteries, and the charger. When I'm not tearing into my jeep I do construction and use a variety of Dewalt tools. They have always provided quality products over the years. Btw, I was able to take hours off of the new suspension upgrade thanks to this tool.

Oh baby, BABY!! I'm in love!!
This is one serious tool. When it first arrived, I tried to use it without a fully charged battery and a regular 7/8" socket on one of my truck's lug nuts. Not a good idea! The combination of a 3" extension and shallow socket not only didn't remove the nut, but the extension dented the top of it. Oops....mental note - deep sockets for lug nuts! A couple hours of patience for the impact sockets I ordered to arrive and a fully charged battery, and I was in business. WOW! This tool has serious torque! It zipped off every lug nut after no more than a second or so of ratcheting. As a test, I replaced the nuts and torqued them down with a wrench to 135 lb-ft as specified by the manufacturer. Once again, not a problem, the DCF889HM2 took them off without breaking a sweat. I really like the hog ring feature and it seems to me the sockets and extensions are held quite firmly. The LED light and dual batteries with "fuel gauge" to indicate the charge level are icing on the cake. If you're considering an impact wrench, I don't see how you can go wrong with this one.

Works better for lug nuts than my air powered tools
Fast and quiet. It took the lugs of the car with ease. It also can be easily used to seat the lug nuts without over tightening them, thus allowing a proper torque wrench to be used for the remaining turns. Also, for most automotive purposes, very few fasteners need higher torque than the lug nuts (axle nuts and crank pulley fasteners usually need higher torque). Even though an air powered wrench may come cheaper, the cost of an air compressor, hoses, and fittings make the Dewalt an excellent option for casual brake and chassis work. The noise an air compressor makes is bad for home personal use, this nullifies that problem for me as well. Lastly, I have a lot of friends that want me to check out their brakes before they have them fixed, fearing getting ripped off. I can easily take my floor jack and this tool out, zip the tires off and on in about 5 minutes total turn around time to have a look at the brakes. It is also portable when I need to go help a friend out with changing their tires and such. In short, great buy. If I still had my auto shop, I would use this far more than my air powered tools.

Excellent for DIYer, around the garage
Great for lug nuts, larger lag screws, etc. Was disappointed to see that it's made in Mexico. I thought all Dewalt products were made in the U.S.A (saw a good documentary on Dewalt on TV) but obviously some things are farmed out. Quality doesn't seem to have diminished.

I wish there were six stars, these 20v series dewalts are awesome. Be careful what you torque with this if you've never used one like it. It outperforms my crappy Kobalt air driven 1/2 inch impact gun. It rips lugnuts off with ease on my 3/4 ton truck. I've had it snap a large washer in half with I (over) tightened a bolt. I'm sure there are probably other great 20v systems out there so look around I haven't tried them all.I will say I use the crap out of these 20v dewalts in a farm/home shop setting very frequently for things they probably are not intend for. They continue to impress me. I started with the drill/ 1/4 in impact combo kit I got as a gift. The 1/4 in impact is the most used tool I use in my shop. I was so impressed I bought the sawzall. That impressed me so much I bought this for things that require >130ish pounds of torque the 1/4 inch can't handle. All I can say about this whole line is they are all highly powered, well designed, rugged, and have outstanding battery life. Only downside with this gun is it's weight. Its pretty heavy with a 4 or 5 amp hour battery on it. But it is over 300 pounds of torque so...

Wow - this thing has some power!
So far, I've used this impact wrench to change out the ball joints on my mom's car and it performed great. Power was not an issue with this thing. It handled everything from the wheel lugs to the spring compressors and everything in-between just like a pneumatic wrench would. The only downside is that It is fairly bulky. It will be hard to get into some of the tight places, but with extensions & a universal joint, I was able to make do. Maybe later on, I can invest in one of the smaller impact wrenches for the really tight places. But for now, I'm happy with this purchase and am looking forward to another project to use this wrench on.

Spins um off
This performed above my expectations as i have been using the old rattle air gun and this did a better job and i didn't have to listen to my LOUD air comp. The quality is very good ,as i expect this form Dewalt. and i like the handy bag that comes with it( it's all together- no more searching at, 72 i tend to forget where i place things haha) It is hefty ,not as light as my rattle gun. no problem with lug nuts on the old 3/4 ton Dodge. and it's great on the trail when some one gets a flat.
