A good trash can but with some flaws?
Since I've owned the product or rather the elderly family member I got this for as a gift, I believe I can give a decent review since it has been in service for a few months.First, the good stuff. Its motion sensor works flawlessly and has not given any issues. Being 23 gallons, it will last the entire day before needing to be taken out, of course your mileage may vary due to throwing away large containers and items. The wheels allow it to move freely throughout the kitchen and home. Now for the bad. Maybe it was damaged in shipping and I never noticed before giving it away or this can be an oversight in design and future models can be improved. There is a small gap around the trashcan lid (once the flap is lifted open). Apparently food items and liquids etc have gotten into that thin gap and caused mold to grow. So deciding to do a deep clean for the family member, I flipped the lid over and noticed a majority of the screws were rusted. It could be surface rust and not a huge deal. Anyway, I removed the screws and tabs to remove the plastic lid from the silver lid. Here is where the trouble starts, it is connected by two red wires that feed from the battery compartment to the relay switch that operates the motor, so wiping down, cleaning and disinfecting both lids was a pain. Upon attaching both lids, I ran a bead of caulk around that gap to seal it and to keep any more food and liquid from going under and in between the two lids.Dont get me wrong, it's a nice touchless trash can for the money and the recipient loves it. But I would like to see the lids be made a little more "deepcleaning" friendly for the average user and/or a gasket seal and prevent this issue from happening.

Somewhat short "lifespan" but my family insists I keep buying these!
I have purchased 4 different sizes of iTouchless cans in the last 6 years. The 1- and 8-gallon sizes are still going strong since they get less use, but results have been less than stellar for the larger models that we have used for the kitchen. My original 18-gallon model worked fine for about a year and a half, after which the gear for the raising mechanism broke (as many reviewers have noted). I went ahead and paid the $40 to buy a replacement lid and that kept going for about another year and a half. I upgraded to the larger 23–gallon model at that point and haven't had any issues (only 12 months going at this point).I like the really large capacity of the 23-gallon model; with 2 adults and 2 kids we generate a lot of kitchen trash, apparently. I haven't had any rust issues with any of the units I have purchased, even though occasionally something does get spilled inside. The fact that it rolls on casters makes it convenient to push out of the way for cleaning the floor. All in all, I like the functionality of the can. We have never had sensor issues with ours, although I will say that our largest dog has figured out how to open it by waving his snout over the top!I considered not buying a replacement when the second lid broke, but my family vehemently objected to the idea of going back to a manual trash can. I do admit I have also gotten used to the convenience of the lid opening for me. Other companies' similar cans are not the right size/shape for our needs, although I would gladly pay more for a can that would last longer. At this point, I have come to accept the fact that these cans have a certain "mechanical life," and as long as the cost-of-use for that length of time is still reasonable for me, I'll probably keep buying them.

Worth every penny!!!
This is the second trashcan like this I've purchased. We've had our other one for 8 years. The lid broke/ cracked after 4 moves (military life=lots of moving) so it was time to replace it. I love the huge size! With a family of 6 and 2 dogs we seem to create a lot of garbage and I don't like overflowing trash cans or taking trash out daily. This is perfect! Super sturdy, and after 8 years the body still looked fantastic. They changed the style slightly so I couldn't just replace the lid. I love that you don't have to touch it to throw stuff away and if you're doing a lot of food prep you can lock the lid open for the duration you want. This is by far the best trashcan I've ever had - worth every penny!

Fantastic!!!
This is a fantastic product and I am super glad that I finally purchased it. It is currently serving as a central trash repository, located in the Utility Room which accesses the Garage, so consequently is being used for inside and outside trash. Working wonderfully and exactly as described in the description of the product. Would highly recommend to anyone who is searching for a trash bin that is large enough to meet the needs of at least a family of four (it's only me here in this house, but would easily support a family of four) and still functional and "looks good"!!!

This trashcan does not work consistently!
I bought this trashcan in April of 2019, and it has already stopped working consistently with batteries and the plug. It really was great when it worked because it kept me from having to touch the lid while I'm cooking, but now, I have to find another automatic trashcan that will consistently work, and last longer than 9 months. I DO NOT recommend this trashcan.November 1, 2020 update: this trashcan has finally, completely died! We've had it for 1 year and 6 months, and it's automatic components no longer work even every now and again, they no longer work at all, it won't close, as you can see, nor will it open.***DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TRASHCAN***

No need to touch the trashcan when your cooking or cleaning up.
I love this motion trashcan. It's so clean you dont have to touch can at all when your cooking. It's 21 gal, it says industrial size. I was afraid it was to big for a home kitchen but it's perfect. Uses the large hefty type bags which I've always used anyway. It has a plug in and battery compartment for the motion which great so just plug in if close to a receptacle. I upgraded from a can you push with your foot which stopped functioning like a yr after I bought it. I think a kitchen trashcan is one of those items for your home you should get the options you want on it for the price because it'll last for several years.

Recommend
Easy to use and set up. Ac adaptor availlable as an extra so batteries not required. A bit tough to keep the top clean and the mouth could be bigger, but overall i recommend this product.

Pretty good.
It's not perfect as sometimes the sensor does not pick up motion, but after 4 months it's still working which is more than I can say about other cans we have had.

Four Stars
Seems to be working fine, didn't come with the wall adapter, for nearly $300 you'd think it would.
