Night Flights: A Mortal Engines Collection

Answers: Who is Anna Fang?
I read the first three Mortal Engines books, and saw Darkling Plain, the fourth book, so I ordered it, while doing that I saw Night Flights and thought it would be nice to know who Anna Fang is and how she ended up where she was. This book starts when she lost her mother and brings you to the moment when she met Tom and Hester. I really liked this book. You learn a lot about who her life before Tom and Hester. I like the pictures as well. If you read all the Mortal Engines books, you should read this one also.

Excellent Reading
I liked all the short stories. They filled in a lot of the background of Anna Fang. Keep the books coming!

Just enough to satisfy, but felt rushed in places.
"Night Flights" isn't a fully-fledged "Mortal Engines" book. It's a collection of short stories that delves into the history of Anna Fang. The first of the three short stories is Anna Fang's origin tale. The second story is a splendid reinvention of the legend of Jack the Ripper. The final story feels rushed, but it answered a question I've always had about Fang: is she a freedom fighter, or a terrorist?"Night Flights" is a must-read for any fan of the Predator Cities Quartet. The book is short (can be read in one afternoon) and Ian McQue's illustrations are marvelous. Cynics may call "Night Flights" a quick cash grab before the Mortal Engines movie hits theaters in December. It isn't. The book is a genuine attempt to breathe life into one of the series most memorable characters. I recommend it to anybody who has at least read "Mortal Engines".Lastly, I was moved by the book's dedication to Jihae, the Korean-American actress who is portraying Fang in the film. Science Fiction and Fantasy stories are chock-full of white male characters [not that there's anything wrong with that], so it is delightful to see an Asian woman represented in such an inspiring way.

MORE STORIES PLEASE!!
I'm a big fan of the Mortal Engines stories.I think they are exciting and well writen. So when I found this short story collection I had to get it. This book doesn't disappoint. Its a quick read consisting of 3 story's all about Anna Fang.the first one is pretty her backstory.the second one is a glimpse in how her heart begins to change and the third one leads into how she meets Tom and Hester for the first time. This book gives me hope that there will be stories coming from the world of Mortal Engines. The author does an excellent job of weaving so much into his stories. There are illustrations throughout the stories.I found them to beautiful and a perfect fit for the world the author as created. My only suggestion would be if they good be in color.I think they would look amazing especially seeing Anna in her signature red coat.

I’m 50 years old but I love this type of stuff. The imagination of Phillip Reeve is outstanding. I have the other Mortal Engines series and really enjoy the characters, setting and the stories. Highly recommend.
