What is the Height of all 6 boards stacked? (Out of the package of course)

If each board is 1/4 inch thick as advertised, the total combined thickness of all of the boards combined would be 1.5 inches.

Is this too thick for book covers?

Yes. I’d recommend 1.5mm to 2mm thick chipboard for book cover boards. This is roughly 6-6.5mm thick.

Do these need to be prepped in any way prior to painting them?

Yes! These are very absorbent and will suck up all your paint if you don’t prime them. I also use two coats with a light sanding between each coat. (Sometimes 3 coats until it’s where I want it.) once they are primed they work very well for painting.

Can you sublimate on this wood?

Sublimation is the process of transitioning from a solid to a gas. I don’t believe these can do that. 🤣
