This was one funny good cartoon from the 70s..your kids will love it !

Great show from the 70's.

I had previously purchased this series a decade ago for my late girlfriend so now I decided to get a copy for myself. This is my latest purchase of a Hanna-Barbera series on DVD. I always loved the voice talents as well as acting by Scatman Crothers[Meadowlark Lemon on the Harlem Globetrotters and Scat Cat on The Aristocats] and he does so excellently as the title character[a.k.a. Penry the mild-mannered janitor]. Sgt. Flint was voiced by Joe E. Ross[Gunther Tooty on Car 54, Where Are You?]. Who could forget that bespectacled blonde haired Rosemary, the mini-skirted telephone operator! Then there's Spot, the striped Tabby who helps out Penry/Hong Kong Phooey solve crime fighting, if the latter doesn't by himself or with the help of his Kung Fu lesson book(!). This series was always great to watch on Saturday mornings after witnessing Crothers himself as Louie, the garbage collector on Chico And The Man Friday evenings[Let's not forget his role as Mr. Turkle, the night watchman in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest!]. Fan-riffic!

Funny classic TV series. Wish they made more episodes. And love that cat named spot. LOL

I was a little over 3 years old when I first initially started watching this show and I absolutely love it to this day so I knew I had to purchase it.. I had no clue it was only one season long.. One of my favorite actors, Scatman Crothers if you hear his voice you'll recognize him in everything he's in. Just the other day I was watching something and I heard his voice. So as soon as I hear them I saw him in the movie he was in I forget what I went straight to Amazon and purchased this not knowing it was going to be so inexpensive.

Leider gibt es keine deutsch synchronisierte Fassung dieser alten Serie. Ich habe die DVD meinem Bruder zum Geburtstag geschenkt, er liebte diese Serie als Kind. Da er zz. in Hongkong lebt, sollte dies ein kleiner Joke sein, englisch ist also kein Problem... Nur die Stimmen sind halt anders, aber: so what! Spaß bringt das Anschauen allemal!

Souvenez-vous de ce chien, plutôt maladroit, qui se prend pour un justicier spécialiste des arts martiaux, Hong Kong Fou Fou! Ce coffret Hanna Barbera regroupe l'intégrale de la série, dans un délire total et une liberté perdus depuis dans le monde de l'animation. A signaler que seul l'anglais est disponible (audio & s/titres) mais un niveau moyen de langue permet de suivre l'intrigue; et il y a les images. A consommer sans modération!!!

Some people said they watched as a kid, but, now when they are older, they didn't enjoy it as much, well I watched as a kid, and, found it as funny or more so now that I am 51 years old, so if your wondering about it, I say, smoke a joint and laugh your head off !!!!

I’ve been on a nostalgia kick recently and when I spotted this I just couldn’t resist. Have watched the first disc, and it’s been fun to take a walk down memory lane when cartoons looked like cartoons.
