It will get the job done, but might come warped!
Came on time, nicely made, but came a little warped straight out of the box which is kind of upsetting considering the price. It seems that it was that way from the way it was stored at the warehouse, not manufacturers fault. Still a good product, nonetheless. I'm still giving the product itself 5 stars because it's the perfect size, fits comfortably, the buckle is nice and solid and the rounded edges are a perfect touch so you're not accidentally scratching yourself each time you pull more line.

Budget friendly
Might not be the best one on the market but it gets the job done. The waist strap is a little small on me, big guy 6'3" 300 pounds. For the price it works great. Mostly it gets used in my jon boat to keep line from going all over the place. Have use it wading a couple of time with only issue being the size of waist strap and my big belly. For the price would buy another one if something happens to this one.

Good product, but with sharp edges.
Overall this stripping basket is a good product for the price, but I agree with the observation of a previous reviewer. The manufacturing process leaves sharp edges on the lips of the basket that could damage fly lines over time. I also chose to file and sand paper the edges to create a beveled lip. Quality control needs to be exercised at manufacturing to create a smooth and beveled lip that doesn't require user modification. The drain holes are a smart Idea for those of us that don't wade deep with a stripping basket.

I've tried to save money by making my own stripping basket, but there is something to be said about something that is manufactured for a specific purpose. This is a sleek design. It looks like you can add some weed eater line to the tops of the cones to better hold fly line, but it works well without it.

I like the design but just started using it this season and the super strong polypropylene construction has a crack at the bottom of the right hand belt slot. No so super strong. I take great care of my fishing gear so it's not from abuse or misuse. Again, the design is a copy of the Linekurv - maybe the brand name would be more durable........

Okay but needs work.
Haven't used it yet, but felt a need to spend some time with a file and some sandpaper. the molded edge is actually quite sharp, and the rod cut-out is a bit too small to fit the handle of my fly rod. After enlarging the one cut-out, and going over the whole top edges with 2 grades of sandpaper, I feel that it will be quite usable. If drainage holes seem like a good idea in the future, I think I will try a scupper valve on the bottom, so water won't rise up into the basket, but will quickly drain. This one seems good: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007ZZG354/

Highly Recommended
I can't recall the last time I wrote a review. It's quite rare but, after struggling for a few months with a mesh stripping basket I gave this one a try. It works fantastically. I just got back from using it and went from 50+% of the casts having some knots/bunching at the end of my cast to 0%. Well, Well worth the money.

Too small
Although the small design makes it comfortable, my strips often were often pulled out by the surf action. And even when the water was slack, unless you drop the line exactly in the center of the basket, it would spill out in the water. If the manufacturer would give the basket more depth, it would be winner. As currently designed, it's a pain to use.
