The set comes nicely packaged in a box + 2 bags: one containing the comforter and (rolled up inside it) the 4 shams and the bedskirt, and the other containing the 2 decorative pillows, which are vacuum-sealed.I have a very sensitive nose, and can attest that there was absolutely NO chemical smell at all out of the box/bag.The comforter itself is beautiful. I'm really pleased with the gold/ivory color. The gold has an almost bronzy/metallic look, which is better than expected and exactly what I was looking for. Lovely pattern, very regal-looking.The fabric is a tiny bit rough on the patterned side, but nothing that would cause it to be uncomfortable to sit on. Although this isn't the type of comforter I'd ever wrap myself up in, the underside is nice and smooth and I imagine would be very cozy and comfortable against the skin. The weight of the comforter is perfect for all-year use.The primary reason the set doesn't rate a "5" for me, though, is the odd stitching (see photo). The top is covered with strange little lines of stitching- some vertical and some horizontal- each about .5 inches or so long- placed randomly all over the comforter. I imagine this is done in order to keep the filling from shifting, but it certainly could have been done in a much more thoughtful and aesthetic manner. It's not glaringly noticable from a distance- and I suppose for the price you can't expect perfection. I do, however, own another Madison Park piece, which I purchased for around the same price point, and on which the workmanship is markedly better.Be aware that the shams are quite large (not sized to fit over standard bed pillows). I might use the patterned ones to cover a chair cushion. The fabric on the bedskirt and the solid-color shams is thin and, to me, has a very synthetic feel. I do like the included decorative pillows.All in all, I feel that for the price, it's a nice buy- especially if you can pick up one of the "used, like new" offerings.Hope this review has been helpful as you make your decision! :)

This comforter set is beautiful! I was a little skeptical about this comforter because it is light weight and I love heavy comforters. Surprisingly enough this comforter keeps me completely warm even on some of the more colder nights. Great quality at a great price point. Highly recommended!

Wish is was a little darker in color but feels great. Light and soft.

Great Quality very soft and fluffy

I had this set in my cart for a while, as I gathered other items to figure out how to style and redecorate my bedroom. It was against another, and I chose this one because it was a lighter shade of gray and it went on sale.It fits well on my king sized bed. The decorative pillows (there is one not pictured) compliment the comforter set very well, along with the additional pink pillows I added. The comforter is not light in my opinion, but also not heavy. It's in between. It is warm and sleeps comfortably. There are some imperfections at the seams, where there are stray threads. Once snipped it won't be an issue. I am just glad I did not pay full price for it. I have not had it long and have yet attempted to wash this, but I plan to follow the care instructions and will come back to this review to update.

The color is great with tan sheets!! I added two decorative pillows and extra pillows to give it fullness. Pillows were deflated but easy to fluff. shams will need extra large square pillows. Great softness and design.Madison Park for the win!!

I received a used comforter set that had no pillows and a big brown spot near the head of the comforter. Gross!Edit: received a new set and it’s gorgeous! Feels high quality, heavy enough for Canadian winters (unless you’re one of those people who are always cold, even in summer).

The blanket is thicker than I expected and super soft inside. It has the perfect weight and warmth.Love it!

Oh my! I am so happy I purchased this set. It is absolutely stunning and I just love it. Very well made and looks very high end. I love the texture on the comforter and the beautiful pattern. I was looking for a set that had a silver touch to it and this one is a winner! This is much more beautiful than I expected from the pictures. Very very happy with this purchase!

Love everything about this ensemble BUT very disappointed that it shrunk considerably when I followed the directions on washing the comforter. To bad they don’t sell the comforter separately.

This item was exactly as described. It is well made and it looks great. It would have been nice if it was a little bit wider in size. We have a King sized bed and could be a big longer on the sides but I am finding that is a common issue with other comforters I looked at. I would recommend this item.
