Fantastic
This particular model was sent to me for RND and review purposes. As someone who loves to do reviews, it is known to me a no no to start my review with my conclusion. That being said I want to start this review with my conclusion and let any who read it know, this Gamdias Hermes Lite combo, for those of you just getting in to gaming, to those of you wanting to upgrade from the membrane keyboard and less than adequate mouse in front of you, to those of you looking to be adventurous and try something new, then this is perhaps one of the best most affordable alternatives on the market.THE KEYBOARD:The Hermes Lite comes with a very solid durable heavy construction 104 key mechanical keyboard design. The particular flavor I tested is red (TTC) mechanical switches. They are very close in feel and comparison with Cherry MX reds if you have ever used those. Red switches are a little more quiet than browns, blues, blacks and so on. They don’t have a tactile click bump, they have a stop and release bump on actuation (best way to describe red switches, they don’t have the springy push back, its more of a smooth transaction from depression to release, and a muffled more dull sound). The keycaps can be easily removed and replaced with other t-stem keycap switches (such as off of your favorite broken Cherry MX board). This may be a concern to some of you who want to use after market switches, the answer is yes, you can use after market switches. The illumination behind each key is a single RED LED light. Using HERA (the GUI) you are able to change very basic features and functions. No fancy ripple or wave effects, its straight forward brightness up-down, off, or pulsing. If red is your theme then this will accommodate it well. While on the topic of HERA it should be noted, to use hot functions like ‘On the Fly Recording’ (for macros) HERA must be running. The simple fact that a mechanical keyboard (and mouse) for this price have the full support of a graphic user interface, is incredible. You are easily able to navigate through HERA and set up macros within the software, as well as assign individual keys to specified tasks.Whats makes this a ‘Lite’ flavor keyboard? Some of the fancier bells and whistles are left off of it. The lack of a braided cable as one example (both on the Erebos II mouse and the keyboard). The lack of additional fun lighting effects and colors as another. These are completely understandable trade offs to target a more budget oriented market. Good quality build wins me every time, over fancy flashy, yet faulty. I cannot say enough how much I love to see a company like Gamdias try and cover the full spectrum of the market, and the Hermes Lite Combo is a powerful accessory to their arsenal, and should be heavily considered for your arsenal if this is your target range.A quick note on the weight of the keyboard, and its ability to stay firmly in place. Four rubber feet in the front, with two rubber feet on the risers in the back, combined with the heavy construction quality, makes this keyboard stay firmly in place. Smart applications for those who game, a keyboard that will sit still and not require the user to have an over-sized mouse pad. Kudos.THE MOUSE:The Erebos II Lite 7302 Model is not what I was hoping for, but completely understandable and still exceptional given the sibling device it comes with, and the price it sells for. When I read about the Erebos mouse (7500 model) it was far and away one of the coolest products from Gamdias I had read about, and seen. The Erebos Lite, however, is not the same mouse. BUT It should be noted that it truly is a gaming mouse. It features and Avago ADNS 3050 Entry to gaming optical sensor. Not some terri-bad not for gaming sensor. It also features Omron switches with 10 million click life cycle ratings. The mouse covers all of the basics, but I find its weight at 90g a little light for my taste. I have a big hand, and the mouse is easily comfortable to me.I know it sounds as if I may be beating up on the Erebos Lite, but the truth is, it is not the center piece of the purchase here. It is perfectly adequate and acceptable. It also is fully supported by HERA with the ability to change LED colors within, assign profiles, change polling rates, accelerations, and hardware components inside all speak for themselves. A real gaming sensor… Real name in switches… A real well designed body (albeit light at 90g).While I do not use it as my daily driver I see the full value in this combo, and this may be the first time Gamdias has gotten an overwhelming yes to five stars from me. I, in conclusion, or to recap my conclusion, find this to be an awesome pickup, a great deal, and perhaps perfect for those of you who are on the fence looking to upgrade your peripheral setup.

Gaming combo with a lot of potential
The shipping on this was fantastic, arriving a full week and a half before estimated arrival. It was, however, shipped in its factory box, instead of being put into another box for shipping. The box sustained some minimal shipping damage and thus I was unable to keep it as I normally would, in case I want to re-box the keyboard for storage or transfer. Everything inside was untouched and in perfect working condition though. I have to admit, this is one of those products that I want to do well, being so impressed with the concept and design, that I've let a few things go that might otherwise affect my overall rating.PROS:- The primary reason I purchased this combo: the thumb keys. Out of all the gaming keyboards out there, the GAMDIAS offerings are one of only two or three that has them. For me, this puts it in a class above even the top of the line Razer or Logitech gaming keyboards, whose focus seems to be gimmicks such as mechanical switches instead of anything that will actually improve your gameplay. Which utilizing the thumb will do. I play very fast-paced first person shooters: taking a finger off of the WASD set at any time is going to impair your ability to dodge, maneuver, and effectively attack. For example, if you need to press R, F, or C to melee attack, you aren't going to be able to strafe right as you do so, and will likely limit strafing right in preparation of attack. And of course, moving a finger from one key to another presents milliseconds of delay.- The feel of the keys and mouse is very nice, material-wise.- Weight tuning for mouse.- High polling, medium-high DPI mouse.- The breathing lighting for the mouse performs nicely.- Everything is highly responsive.CONS:- The Hera driver software doesn't have an installation package, it simply runs from wherever it's extracted to. Though not a problem, it doesn't lend itself to a professional feeling product.- Hera software isn't very "pretty" or refined looking, particularly the system tray icon.- Lighting on the keys isn't uniform when viewed from a sitting-back angle. Viewed from directly above the lighting fills the numbers/letters/symbols perfectly, but from an angle appears fragmented.- No blue. Lighting options consist of green, red, and yellow, and the yellow isn't perfectly yellow but slightly green. I like blue.- The mouse scroll is difficult to move while either the right or left mouse button is depressed. For the games I play, this will only manifest as a problem when attempting to adjust zoom while ADS, but it can be compensated for. The problem may go away as the rubber on the mouse scroll wears down.- Space button produces a spring-like sound when tapped or pressed. I haven't taken the space bar off to assess it yet, so I can't say if it's fixable or not.- The bottom row of keys (with the space bar), oddly, is about a millimeter higher than the row above it, instead of a millimeter lower, as it should be. This creates a 3 mm total deviation from what one would expect to feel, and it is quite noticeable.Because this is a budget gaming set, a lot of the cons have to be over-looked. It is a great product for the price. I hope GAMDIAS takes care of some of the minor issues that I've detailed, as I can see myself purchasing more products from this company.

RGB... more like R_ _
The keyboard is very sub-par. I typed out my honours project paper on the keyboard and found myself being continually frustrated with the spacebar. It is on a weird spring mechanism which causes it to give a weird feedback feeling, and if you press it hard/quick enough, gives off a loud spring noise. In addition I found that my space bar also would squeak from time to time. Additionally, this keyboard, despite being advertised as a RGB keyboard, only lights up in red. This is very disappointing considering I wanted a blue-lit keyboard for my setup. However, there is a lot of functionality with the lower F6-F11 keys, and I found myself often using these when gaming. The positive part of this purchase was the mouse. The mouse is one of the most comfortable mice I've ever held. The DPI settings are easy to configure and give you a wide range of speeds. The colour switch on the mouse is excellent and easy to operate. All of the buttons work very well. The soft touch finish does show some fingerprints, but easily wipe off. It'll be interesting to see how the finish lasts after a long period of time. The free software is very poor and doesn't do the mouse or keyboard justice. It doesn't provide a lot of configurable options. I didn't really expect much out of this program. Most of the configuring takes place on the keyboard/mouse itself
