Outstanding wading boots
I just replaced my mid-market wading boots with the Orvis Pro Wading Boot, which I consider a high-end product. My previous boots were very good, but the Orvis boots are outstanding! In particular, I immediately noticed how much more sure-footed the Orvis boots were, both when wading in the stream and in other situations, such as going up or down a slippery riverbank. While I was researching the Orvis boots, I noticed a small number of negative reviews. In particular, some who have purchased these boots have complained that they cause ankle pain. I actually had the same experience when I first put the Orvis boots on. I had to experiment a little with various thicknesses of socks and with how tight the shoelaces were before they were comfortable. The possibility of ankle discomfort when you first put the boots on is actually due to a positive feature of the boots. They have fairly stiff ankle support, which will dramatically increase your stability when you wade in a river. However, because of this feature, I do not recommend that you put the boots on and immediately head out to fish. Instead, put on your stocking foot waders at home, then the boots. Walk around in them. Adjust shoelace tightness and the thickness of your sock (or socks) until the boots are reasonably comfortable. I had to wear a pretty thick sock the first day for the boots to be comfortable. The boots were then very comfortable during an entire first day of fishing with them and, they were already feeling more broken-in by the end of the day. I can tell they will be a dramatic improvement on my prior wading boots. In summary, I strongly recommend this product if you are in the market for a heavy-duty wading boot that will dramatically increase your safety while wading. They are a fairly expensive, high-end wading boot, but your safety is worth it!

Money well spent
These are a little stiff on the ankles at first but once wore in a bit they are very comfortable. I added the studs to the soles and the grip is great on moss covered rocks. Well worth the purchase if you fish frequently. They appear to be very durable.

Boot your other boots!
The best boots. I haven't even put studs in them yet. Great grip, great support, easy to get in and out.

These boots came apart after 1 season
When I first saw these boots (a friend bought a pair) I was impressed by the seemingly fine build quality and gota pair myself. BIG MISTAKE! After only one season the sole separated from the rest of the boot. My friend's bootsdid the same thing. These are about the most expensive boots on the market but are far less durable than bootscosting a third less. If you value your money don't even think about buying these. I've been trout fishing for over50 years and have worn many different boots. These are among the worst.

Incredible Wading Boots
They hold up well to abuse, are extremely comfortable, and can handle the biggest Steelhead Rivers. To top it off their lightweight. Put Rock Treads aluminum wading studs in these and you'll have the best wading traction available today.
