Textbook example of form over function
Aesthetically - no question the Nessie ladle is a joy to behold. The idea is cute, the berry-red color looks great and the contrasting rough/glossy surface treatment on the outside & inside surfaces is smart. Unfortunately, that's about where the fun ends. One of the big selling points of this ladle is that you're supposed to be able to simply stand it on the kitchen counter until your soup is ready to serve. This would have been very easy to achieve using the following basic design techniques: (1) Thicken the plastic toward the bottom of the bowl to make the ladle more bottom-heavy, (2) position Nessie's front legs further out where the neck/handle is to account for the extra weight on that side of the ladle, or (3) both of the above, for even better stability. It's evident that none of these techniques were applied here. Instead, all 4 legs are evenly arranged around the center of the bowl, and the plastic is of the same thickness almost everywhere except the legs themselves, offsetting the center of mass so much that even the slightest tap will knock the ladle right over. The only way it wouldn't happen is if you stand it on the counter while full of soup, but why would anyone do that...Also, the plastic itself is so thin that the handle actually flexes under the load of its own contents - not only affecting long-term durability, but making the whole thing feel flimsy right from the start. Worst of all, since the handle is increasingly concave on one side to blend into the hollow form of the head and offer a half-hearted attempt at rigidity where it's least important, the ergonomics are terrible in exactly the place you'd instinctively want to grip it, never being quite comfortable enough to hold.No choice but to return this. Pity that such a cool-looking product is so poorly thought out. 5 stars for appearance, 1 for execution.

Fun! And it won’t stain in spaghetti sauce!
Wife and daughter chuckle whenever they use it.

Super cute but not as sturdy as I thought it’d be.
This product is super cute! however, the plastic it is made of is quite flexible and I would not recommend this ladle if you have a giant family and eat soups with lots of meat and vegetables in them often.

Too flimsy to be used as a proper ladle
I got this expecting that the handle would be much sturdier; it is not. The neck/handle bends too much, to the point where I can't use this as a proper ladle. The thing bends when you try to scoop liquids with solids, like beef stew. This would only work as a ladle if you are scooping clear soup that has little to no resistance or substance in the liquid.Go to a local market to grab something much cheaper and sturdier; I saw one at my local Korean market at $3.99 and regretted so much paying $15 on this one.I will probably use this "ladle" as a tea bag holder or something similar. I love the design and was really hoping it would work. I will probably not buy anything else from this company, now knowing the quality of the material used on this ladle.

Good gravy, Nessie!!
I love this. SO much! But it's not really a decent functional ladle for anything aside from gravy because the neck is too flimsy. It's also smaller than I thought. I make super chunky spaghetti sauce & Nessie isn't large or heafty enough to handle single portions for ravenous children, let alone gratuitous adults, at dinner time. But my lil' Nessie will be the best gravy ladle in all the land. If I'm being honest, I might use her as a personal soup spoon when I'm sick. Because I can. Slàinte mhath!

Cute but not practical
The design is cute but the handle is very flimsy which makes it tricky to use. It is also pretty small. Basically you're paying for the design.
