Revised Review: A Mistake
Below is the review where I gave the item only 1 star because it was missing critical components. After Amazon replaced it with a complete (non-pilfered) unit, I am making a revision. The system is rather complicated for a non-electrician to wire up from the instructions. Hire an electrician and the problem is gone. The system can control basically everything you own that turns on and off. If you have water falls, hot tub, lights, filter, heater, etc. this thing will control them all. The manual is awful (poorly written). The packaging probably shouldn't say what is inside since it is rather expensive. The chlorine generator is keeping up with my 40k gallon pool's needs. The 4 stars is due to the complexity of the installation. In Atlanta that cost $300-$500 that I didn't expect. I install everything at my home but not this thing until after I watched someone who knew what he was doing..I shouldn't give it one star because it may have worked fine it just had been "explored". Some components were missing including the chlorine generator! My electrician looked at the open box and said "no man, this is not the whole thing". Great..... Amazon replaced it and I can easily tell the difference (missing pieces). This thing is complicated but I think it is because of the instructions. Once the guy wired it up, I wondered why the instructions didn't just say what he had done..... Looks to me like there is a thief out there that knows something about electrical components.... I asked Amazon to just send me the missing components but they said their policy was to replace the entire item. One more reason I shop Amazon first and even if they are not the lowest price...

Pricey But Excellent
We purchased this system to automate the pool at our home. Initially we were only going to convert to a salt pool chlorine generator, but the additional cost to automate the whole system wasn't that much higher. After seeing this system at our neighbors home we were convinced.PROS-Excellent built quality - this is an electrical panel with a controller inside. Not like some of the other cheap plastic controllers on the market. We have no concerns about mounting this product outside with our other pool equipment.-Excellent integration of all pool functions - salt chlorine generator, lighting, variable speed pump control, solar and gas heaters, multiple valves, multiple programs, timers, etc.-ability to integrate / automate other functions - we tied in our yard lighting and may add our sprinkler system sometime in the future.-Excellent iPad / iPhone interface - this really helped sell us on the systemCONS-pricey - bit more expensive than simpler systems from Hayward, but this one does have more /better functionality. Also much, much better build quality.-complicated installation / setup - we installed ourselves. Do not attempt unless you are very comfortable and familiar with electrical projects.-Must use Pentair Pumps / equipment - not sure this is a real con since other systems have similar requirements. You can buy a converter to use 3rd party pumps, but its just not worth it.OVERALLIt took some time to install, setup, and program, but we are thrilled with this system. The best part is being able to push a button on our iPhone to setup the spa, start the heater, or setup the pool while we are on the way home.We have the system programmed to run several different flow routines for the floor cleaner, skimmer, etc. Aside from checking water chemistry and an setting up the vacuum once per week, our pool maintenance is effectively gone to zero. We have also talked about installing the pH system to automatically add acid next year. Yes, this system is pricey, but it works great and really does significantly improve the way you use and care for your pool - especially with the iPhone / iPad app.Highly recommended.

Robots will someday control the world!
This product is miserable to program but once set up works well. The manual is terrible. I had to search online forums to learn how to properly program it as even my pool professional was not able to get it right the first 2 tries. BEWARE, Pentair only provides the full warranty if the device is installed by a licensed professional and the documentation is scanned and uploaded to their website and then confirmed. Otherwise you only get like 30 or 90 days warranty.

Only a 60 DAY WARRANTY!
I bought this product in July of this year, installed it a month later in August. Everything worked great until three months later, I noticed my chlorine level dropping in November. The Intellichlor control panel was saying low salt despite my salt being at 3800 ppm (measured with a Taylor drop-based test). All my other chemical levels are in the correct range and the pool water was in the mid 60's F. I called Pentair discuss this warranty issue and they informed me that their warranty is only 60 DAYS if the system is not installed by a "pool professional." So I have a product that costs over $1k that worked for just over 60 days and Pentair says they can do nothing for me. Really poor customer service. I certainly understand them having to deal with people screwing up installation and operation of their product. I would be perfectly happy for them to come out and ensure that my installation was not the cause of the failure. I would even be willing to pay for the visit if it turned out to be an error on my part, but they are unwilling to help me at all.

DIY Installed
Easily installed. Just took my time and took one for one swap on the wiring. Get the wifi card, screen logic interface and wireless kit as well. It makes the programming side so much simpler. I bought a remote interface cable for my pump off ebay that I didn't have. Shipping was really quick and didn't have any damage or missing parts. Saved a lot with self install. Watched a video online for the transformer hookup part that confused me. Basically, you hook the transformer power for the panel off the input side of the first relay along with the power coming off the first breaker. Everything else is straight forward.
