Held on by a rubber band
First of all, let me say that the light itself is fine. It is very bright and has multiple functions. However, the reason I bought this light was because the last light I had on my bike fell off. I ride on rough rural roads in Maine with bumps, potholes, and the like.In order to charge the light you have to take it off the bike and it is held on by a rubber band. It just wouldn't last on my bike and I'd wind up driving up and down the road looking for the spot where my light had fallen off. Maybe it's suitable for smooth roads, but I don't recommend it for rough roads or country riding. I also wonder how long the rubber band would hold up because you have to stretch it in order to take the light off for recharging. My advice to the manufacturer is to take the vvery nice light they have and find another way to fasten it to a bike. Just because it is going onto a bicycle, it doesn't mean it won't get some bumps along the way.

Switch has short life.
I bought two of these: one for my wife and one for me. I bought mine 2 years ago. I bought my wife's in the last few months. Both of the switches have stopped working. While they worked, everything about them was wonderful. Very bright. Good sequencing choices. Easy to install. But I won't buy these again because the switches don't seem to hold up.

Impressed with the customer service!
Update and impressed. I had a new light delivered to my house as a result of this review. Works great. Thank you!!!So bummed. Bought this while I was out of the country and just opened it today. The light worked for an hour, charged it and now it’s not working. My window to return it is past. Booooo

My favorite tail light ever
I've owned a lot of different tail lights and I like this one the best of all. I use it in the daytime and it is effective in getting motorists to see me and give me more room. It has a great feature called DayBright Flash that is supposed to have a run time of 15 hours. It cycles easily through its different modes and it will remember the last one used so you don't have to cycle through every time you use it.

Fundamentally great light with the kinks still being worked out by an attentive company.
Form and function:First if you have an aero seatpost, the included mount pads might not be ideal. You can probably find a way to make it mount. It's also a bit too large for most seat stays and it doesn't easily mount on saddle rails or saddle bags either. Anything is possible with some creativity, but it's really best for round seat posts. It does include plenty of mounting pads and bands, and a nice little pouch. To me the slightly large size is good. It allows high total ouput without high pinpoint intensity when viewed up close. That's less blinding and easier to focus on and locate, while still just as visible at a distance. It weighs about 52 grams including the pad and band. It seems pretty rain proof. It generally looks and feels like a good quality gadget. It charges fully in about two hours (I didn't monitor it closely) consistent with 0.5A charging claims. The daybright mode is very nice, very visible in the daytime. My riding buddies commented on seeing it far up the road in the daytime. I think it's using the full 100 lumens, or a good fraction of it, in short pulses to get attention and last long. I wouldn't use that at night. The pulse mode is interesting for night. I am not a fan of blinky modes at night, but pulse dims and brightens smoothly without going off, improving ability to focus on the light while still getting some improved peak brightness without all of the runtime reduction of a steady bright mode.Mode claims:It comes with a manual with these modes listed:Low 12 hoursMedium 6.5 hoursHigh 2 hoursSlow flash 45 hours (a standard on-off flash, low power)Smart flash(TM) 7 hours (Similar to Slow flash but brighter)DayBright Flash(TM) 15 hours (Short high intensity pulses)BritePulse(TM) 4.5 hours (Pulsing wave pattern in time, never off)Performance testing:The good:I've actually done some fairly quantitative testing on this light. I have no absolute reference, but on high I measure it about twice the total output (scattered light from all directions) of a 50-lumen claimed moon MK-II, and has a similar beam pattern. That's a smaller and lighter-weight light that fits on seat-stays and has lower claimed runtime and obviously brightness. Both lights drop off in brightness some as voltage depletes, dropping to about 70% eventually. It's pretty common for lights not to have true voltage regulation, which requires a little more electronics. The medium steady mode is about 1/4 the output of the high mode initially, and the low mode is about 1/8. This all seems fine and in line with claims relative to at least one competitor. Also I tried to test the daybright mode but not using suitable equipment for pulsed output. By eye, close up, it appears not as bright as the high mode, but perception of fast pulses is complicated. I was able to get readings that weren't far off of full brightness in spite of not have fast triggered sensors, and as mentioned it's very visible from a distance. The ugly:After 20 minutes on the high steady mode, aside from the initial voltage-related drop to about 75% brightness, it also steps down again to about 75% of that from a hard-coded timed step-down, and it steps down by a little over twice again after 1 hour and 20 mintues, reaching about 20% of its initial brightness at that point. I get a total of almost 3 hours of runtime before switching to the battery saving blink mode. That lasts about 1.25 hours (they claim 30 minutes, and I'm happy that it's longer). The two steps are not thermal or voltage related. They are just hard-coded timing steps and it would seem they exist to extend runtime while still getting the initial high lumen output. The step downs are even done in multiple steps a few seconds apart, making it less likely that you'll realize this. If I reset the light after each programmed step down, it follows a similar output curve as the Moon light, and gets a runtime of 1.5 hours, not the claimed 2 hours. As it stands the high mode is like a "turbo boost". You set it when you need to get through a few miles of dense city traffic but it will drop back down after that. To me, that seems a bit like cheating on runtime claims, or at best not explained up front, and I also just find it as not an ideal configuration personally. If I want to use high for a short time I'll do that and if I need low for a longer time, I'll change to low.To their credit the customer support manager has been very responsive and sympathetic. He did discuss with their manufacturers and verify the issue, and I think he's sincere in saying he wants to fix this. I don't think they can fix it and still get a claimed 2hr runtime on high. I think at 1.5 hours, it's still a great light, especially at this price, but they should remove the step downs. In their defense, their most direct competitor (over three times the promotional Apace price) has the same battery capacity and their claimed runtimes don't add up. It seems they may be doing similar tricks, and I understand the need to compete to sell lights.Overall:A long running light with great day and night capabilities, especially for the price, but some limitations in mounting options and some unecessarily dubious performance claims that might not hold to up to what you'd expect from the description. Customer service seems sincere in addressing it, and the light can still be a great buy, especially at the promotional price of about 3x less than the competitor.

Low Cost - Very bright
I've mounted the light but don't have much experience yet. Appears to be very bright. Like that it is rechargeable. Read instructions about how to turn on by holding down the switch. I'll update later after I've had experience on the road. I'm giving it a five star rating now because it is so bright and comes very nicely packaged with several mounting pads and securing straps. Well thought out product in that regard.

Bright, Bright, Bright...
This rear light is a monster! I've been to a thousand bike shops looking for a bright light & I just cant find one like it.The brightest lights out there are about 30 lumens at most. This bad boy is at 100 lumens. Riding in a crowded city could be a bikers safety angel.I attached it to my Tubus rack & it fit as if the light was made for the rack. If you're out looking for a super bright, Long lasting rear light, You'll be hard at work looking & comparing other lights for this price.

Good value for a bright light
I travel dusk through night conditions on my bicycle and this light is on the back of my bike. It is bright, it has a large lighting surface as it is 2 led tubes rather than single point LEDs. There are plenty of flash patterns and the battery lasts long depending upon the flash pattern. The light comes with a variety of mounting plates and fastening bands. For extra security I use 2 bands to hold the light on.

Looks like a nice bit of kit
Looks good. Well presented and lots of clever fittings. Decent instructions too for a change. Seem like a decent company to buy from too.UPDATE: Been using this for a couple of weeks now and have to say I'm very impressed. Always nice to get a purchase decision right :)Best rear light I've ever bought. Very happy with it. Well designed, excellent fixings and great battery life/display options.

This is insanely bright on maximum - if anyone claims they couldn't see it, they are lying. However, I have yet to use maximum out on the road.So far, I've used the day flash and pulse setting, and I felt that cars were giving me more space behind and to the side when overtaking. The light is mounted to the rear pannier rack using a cateye spacer x to adapt the light to my cateye rack mount.I can't comment on longevity as yet, but the unit looks well made.Another bonus is the inclusion of small and large rubber mounts (2 of each), and plenty of rubber bands to attach the light.

Makes you very noticeable, well thought through design, easy to fit and remove quickly
Love this bike light. Having used a much smaller red rear light which was powered by a watch battery and wasnt nearly bright enough, I found this product on Amazon and since it wasn't too expensive, gave it a shot.Glad I did. It's a quality product. You can tell a lot of thought has been put into the design. Charges via USB. Has several modes ranging from constant on to pulsing and quick flashing. It is exceptionally bright and not something you'd want to look directly at from a short distance. The box comes with 3 rubber back mounts which are best fitted to the saddle post and then a selection of varying size rubber bands, one of which simply wraps around your post and clips onto the both sides of the light. 2 seconds to fit, 2 seconds to remove. You will not be missed on the road by traffic coming up behind you.Would definitely buy again.

Bright! I feel very safe on dark roads knowing this is lit beflhind me.
Review edit: I have updated this review from 2 to 5 stars. The sellers messaged me shortly after I posted the review, apologised and offered ti send a replacement. I have received the replacement and am happy to report that it works perfectly...so as mentioned below, the actual lights are great, I feel 100% safe on dark roads knowing that they are lit behind me.I have cycled 100 miles max with this light on my road bike. It has been lit, in various modes, for probably 30 of those miles. As far as the actual light goes absolutely no fault with it. At night on max power you could probably be spotted from the moon... I feel very safe on the road knowing that it is lit behind me.The reason for 2 stars (I feel generous I was going to give it 1 star) is that the On/Off switch has fallen out... Pretty much renders it useless now I figure because it won't be waterproof. My cycling has all been on main roads or cycle paths, no extreme jolting or anything... Plan, average, everyday cycling commutes.

Long long battery life very bright
I have been using this light for nearly a month and I go out riding every morning for 10-15miles and I use it in the day at weekends on my 20-30 mile rides and I think I have only recharged it 3 times so far and I ride a recumbent trike which makes my rides average 8-9 miles so my rides take longer than an upright bike. The light is very bright and the day flash is bright just what I needed for my recumbent trike as I am low down and I need to be visible.
