After looking through various external dvd cd drives and reading reviews, I chose this one and I’m very happy with it. It’s an easy plug n play device that doesn’t need to download drivers, works straight away on my desktop all in one windows 10 pc playing cds, dvds and loading software I have from a CD-ROM. All quick and easy. I like the fact it’s got two useful standard USB ports on it to use as extra for my pc, I used one with my iPad memory stick, it transferred my photos quickly without any issues at all. It’s also got a slot for memory cards including an adapter that came in the box for micro cards, excellent. Worth the money I paid, I definitely recommend it

Having built a gaming computer without an optical drive, I had many old video games on disc that I wanted to play, was initially buying this for that, however got my hands on a MacBook Pro, so decided to find an external drive that supported USB-C, which this device does. It allows me to watch movies on my desktop or in my bed on the MacBook. That being said Windows 10 removed Serial Key authentication so none of my old games work unless I install Windows XP/7 and so on, which is Microsofts problem, not this device.The device comes with two cables, one for power and data transfer, another to give more power to the device, it supports sd cards and comes with an sd card slot and adapter, the physical texture of the device isn't premium, but the device serves it's purpose flawlessly. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting an optical drive that's portable, as it works like a charm.Attached are a couple of images, ideally the first one shows me installing a video game called Rise and Fall, an awesome game, got around the Windows 10 issues by messing around with settings, so all is good.

I have tried this with two different laptops, and I've wasted half a dozen blank discs trying to burn various files. Each time I've got half way through and then an error message tells me that there's been an error. One of the laptops is a brand new machine, and the blank discs come from a spindle that I've used successfully with the internal drive of my old laptop. I bought this because my new laptop, like many machines these days, doesn't have an internal drive. Both laptops are made by HP and are running Windows 10 64-bit incidentally.Enough people have got this up and running to make me think that either this unit is broken, or else it doesn't like HP laptops, but either way it's going back for a refund.

Don't you hate it when you buy something believing the advertising and find out when you receive it that you have to go out and buy additional things to make it work? I do! I'm debating whether to return it or go out an buy the needed things to make it work. I HATE FALSE ADVERTISING!

Extremely simple to use. Literally plug it in and put a DVD in it. You plug in the usb cable and that's it. No power supply. No software to install or setup to perform.Perfect for those of us who no longer have a DVD drive in their computers but still need to read a driver CD once in a blue moon.

Quick instructions on the back, came quicker than the game and looks so pretty. Very quiet too the only downside is the power cable is very short so I have had to buy another power cable that was longer but that was cheap as chips. Fantastic for re living those childhood games 🤦‍♀️

This is what I was looking for. Although the instructions are pretty poor (I couldn’t follow them), it just required plugging in. Worked perfectly when I installed software from disc. I have not tried playing CDs or DVDs on it yet but I feel quite confident that this drive will suit my needs.

I bought this drive as my Mac doesn’t have a built in cd or dvd drive anymore. This drive is great, it has very fast read and write times, is plug in and play so you don’t have to install any software and the cable is the perfect length not to be annoying. It supports usb 3 speed data transfer and is fully powered from one port. It works perfectly and is small enough to store away when not in use or carry with you should you need it.
