Panni Shredded Potato Dumplings, 7.9-Ounce Units (Pack of 12)

I was not sure about these dumplings, I thought they will come out mushy and too soft but i was wrong. The texture and flavour are great, I made mine as a side dish with chicken & gravy. They are even great on their own with some bacon and fried onions or as a side dish with cabbage/sauerkraut to any meat/roast.The recipe on the box gives you a choice - you can use 2 cups of water or 2 cups of milk - or you can use little less liquid and ad an egg for extra richness.I used whole milk with one egg and dumplings came out great. I was able to make 8 good size dumplings out of one box. I boiled mine in salted water but you can also boil them in chicken stock for additional flavour.I definitely recommend these, I will try the Bavarian style next - it will be a while since these came in pack of 12. They are really nice change, something different from the usual rice or potatoes.

excellent product for the money

My mother is German and I grew up in Germany so we both love potato balls. Until recently we used to find these in our local grocery store but now they are no longer available. I was so exited to find these on Amazon. Even better, they taste much fresher than what we used to purchase at the store. These are the next best thing to being in Germany. By the way for those who think it can't be authentic to make these from a box, there are very few Germans left who would make these from scratch. My Oma (grandma) used to and it was an all day event. Highly recommend these.

Great taste, and a lot less work then working from scratch. Add a little bit of carraway seeds, can't beat it!

Been using this product for several years now, used to make those by hand every Sunday, now that I became ill I use Panni dumpling mix, which is so very delicious. Both varieties are good, though my Husband favors the raw type. Thank you amazon for having this product available. Helga W.
