Style:5-10 lbs. | Size:7 Chews FRONTLINE Oral Defense chews are specially formulated to help clean your dog’s teeth and promote a clean mouth. With a chewy texture, these tasty dental treats help scrub plaque off of your dog's teeth all the way to the gumline where dangerous plaque build-up hides. As your dog chews, the delectable heart-shaped center melts and covers the entire mouth. Use daily for a noticeably cleaner breath that comes from a whole-mouth kind of clean. Help chew the plaque away with a tasty treat everyday. After a few days of daily chews, you should notice clean breath that keeps going all day between chews. From the makers of FRONTLINE Plus, these treats are made especially for dogs and puppies six months of age or older. Give your dog one FRONTLINE Oral Defense Chew a day.

Knocking off your own brand?
So I manage a Veterinary Hospital where BI (Used to be Merial) sends a representative in to try to get us to sell everything. One of the products that they make are called "OraVet Chews" which are supposed to be veterinary only. They are similar in structure and have a green laughy taffey type exterior and a white swoosh in the middle that contains a chemical structure that legitimately breaks down tartar. In our clinic we recommend the OraVet chews to dogs that for one reason or another cannot get a dental. Some may have heart conditions that prevent anesthesia etc. But to keep their teeth as clean as possible - the Oravet chews do help. Then I see these - Merial, now BI also makes Frontline. So to brand an over the counter knock off to sell online to hose over the veterinarians is pretty much this company's M.O. I refuse to carry many of their products in our clinic mainly because the company has flat out lied to me on many occasions. So I grabbed a bag of these to compare to the chews we sell in the clinic. The ones we have are shaped like candy bars - are green and have a white swoosh. These are brown, shaped a bit like a half a bone and have a white splatter that looks like the same substance. They feel like the same consistency but a different color. These don't have all of the techno jargon on them, just some salesey garbage written for the public so comparison is difficult. So I emailed my rep - she told me that these are almost exactly the same as the Oravet Chews - only they don't have the active ingredient in them. Meaning they say they took out the one thing that actually makes these work. So, who to believe? No idea. I won't be carrying them in my clinic - and if I am going to give something to my dogs, it will be the ones I know have the active ingredient (delmopinol HIC) in them.

$200 Vet Bill Anyone?
I have a healthy, 10 month old Cavalier King Charles. He weighs 14 pounds. I gave him one of these this past Monday night. I gave him another one on Tuesday night. By Wednesday, he had diarrhea. By Thursday, he had bloody stool, along with more diarrhea. He had only had two of these chews. Friday morning I took him to the vet and spent $200 to begin to fix his horribly distressed stomach. He was also put on several medications to clear up the problem.Make it clear.....the ONLY variation in his diet was these chews. I wouldn’t recommend them to any dog owner. I’m going to try to get a refund, but doubt that will happen.

Junk snack food
These treats are basically starchy junk snack food for dogs and the claims about cleaning the teeth and fresh breath after a few days are demonstrably false. They are also outrageously expensive.Active Ingredients; Tapioca Starch, Pea Starch, Wheat Gluten, Glycerin, Gelatin, Chick Pea Flour, Natural Flavor, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate (A Preservative), Soy Lecithin, Powdered Cellulose, Titanium Dioxide, Rice Flour, Vanillin, Saccharin Sodium, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Oil, Alpha Tocopherol Acetate (A Source Of Vitamin E).

Made my Sheltie vomit.
Bought 2 different sizes of these for my dogs (Sheltie & Lab). Unfortunately these made my Sheltie sick, just got back from Vet for vomitting. These remind me of the failed Oravet chews. I tried to submit a return and was unable to for both, only 1 of the bags. Not saying it is going to happen to all dogs, but I wont be buying them again.

Keep Your Dog’s Teeth Clean Without a Fight!
Brushing our dog’s teeth is a battle and we are rarely successful so we are always looking for alternative ways of cleaning their teeth. We have tried different dental treats and water additives - some more effective than others. In my experience these type of oral health chews primarily work by your dog having to work to eat them, thus working the tartar off of their teeth. Our three 50 pound dogs eat these in 15 seconds or less - I’m not sure how effective they end up being for them. That being said, our dogs absolutely love them. They are much more effective with our 15 pound Moyen Poodle, as he doesn’t devour treats like the other dogs. It takes him about a half hour to eat it and I can see how it would be effective in his case as he really has to work it against his teeth. Our dogs fight us brushing their teeth so we are always looking for a way to clean their teeth in other ways. I think this health chew is a quality product, especially for dogs and puppies closer to the 25 pound range, and you’ll be happy with the results after using.⭐️As with all Drew’s Reviews, if I discover something new about this product - good or bad - I will UPDATE my review. I believe in creating detailed, complete reviews because, like you, I depend on them when I am shopping. If you found my review HELPFUL - please click ⬇️ below!⭐️

Best Available Dental Chew So Far
I don't want to have my little 7-yr-old Chihuahua's teeth cleaned professionally because of the risk involved with anaesthesia, so I've been doing everything possible to keep them clean and healthy, myself. I brush them regularly, scrape them with a dental pick when plaque starts to build up, and have given her a variety of dental health chews over the years. Of all the dental chews I've ever tried, Frontline Oral Defense Chews seem to be the most effective. While all of the others took her one minute or less to consume, the Frontline chews take her several minutes -- and she really chews them thoroughly. She absolutely loves the taste! So far, she has all of her teeth. With the help of Frontline, I'm hoping she'll keep them!

good idea
Saw an ad recently for these, and I thought I would give them a try. I am always looking for ways to keep my dogs' teeth clean. Here are my thoughts:Pros Smell great Dogs loved themCons Expensive, >$1 per chew (large) x 2 dogs x daily adds up Soft, my one dog finished hers in less than 2 minutes (literally). I doubt that a lot of scrubbing took place. Small (3 3/8" long), my dogs are both over 100 lbs and these seem more appropriate for smaller dogsBottom line. I will pass on these and keep looking
