DEWALT DXCMPA1982054 20-Gallon Portable Air Compressor

Dislikes - handle kind of weakly attaches and could be improved by lengthening base handle length. Overall very well built . Bought this one to replace my 35 year old Craftsman compressor that I was unsure if it was worth replacing the motor. The new DeWalt is much quieter than my old craftsman. Bought it for work around the home and didn't want a compressor that was laud. If I was in commercial business I would be buying the much cheaper oilless compressors.

The product itself is great. The delivery was disappointing. It was delivered upside down despite the box it is packaged in having large arrows indicating “This Side Up.” This caused a significant amount of oil to leak and seep through the packaging. I was able to clean the compressor and refill the oil, but obviously this is not ideal.

This is one nice air compressor. After wasting money on cheap compressors over the year that didn't last more than a couple of years, I decided to spend the money on a belt and pulley type from a well regarded mfg. I was not disappointed. It's quieter and builds pressure much faster that ones I've had previously. Ran into a shipping and delivery snafu but Amazon went way above and beyond the call of duty to get it sorted out.

DeWalt does not manufacture this compressor. DeWalt cannot service this compressor. The only thing "DeWalt" is the paint job. As a result, although DeWalt promises a two year warranty period, there's effectively no warranty though DeWalt at all.Everyone I spoke with at DeWalt was courteous and empathized with my need for warranty service. Unfortunately, all they could do was give me the phone number of the actual manufacturer. The manufacturer was helpful. They called one of their dealers in the area on my behalf. The unit was repaired under warranty.But...it cost me a couple days of phone calls and arrangements. Also, I had to deliver the compressor and pick it up. It cost me $152.00 for a HF ramp to get the compressor into the jeep. Time and effort.I do not recommend this "DeWalt" unit because DeWalt does not really have a warranty on it. I suggest going to a local compressor dealer that services what they sell.

This air compressor works very well and for its size doesn't make too much noise. I was using it with different air tools and it had no trouble keeping up. Sucker is heavy though...if you have to get it in and out of the back of a truck, you'll need a helper.

After suffering with a crappy oil-free compressor that couldn't run a die grinder, I decided to do A LOT of research before purchasing another one and I my research landed me this on this one. It's quiet and runs all of my tools. It's way better than what I had before. The packaging was great and Amazon stood behind my purchase when I had a minor shipping issue. This compressor is perfect for the home mechanic/wood worker.

Nice compressor and works well out of the box.

This is one decent unit. I bought mine for classic car restoration and painting. Easily keeps up with all of my air tools. Only thing I don’t like is the oil level sight glass is opaque but that wouldn’t affect my rating.
