Poorly built. Needs more screws.
I received this item with the top two stairs broken away from their glued supports. This would have allowed the side rails to spread and the entire stair case to collapse. This would have been disastrous if my 65 lb dog had tried to use these steps. The irony is that other than the failure to use hardware in addition to the glue, these are pretty nice stairs. The runners and side rails are both made from really nice 1/2" plywood with good hardware and glue in most areas. Instead of sending this item back I invested a half an hour of time, 20 1-1/4" deck screws and a little glue. The results are really solid.Unless you are willing to do the same I wouldn't use these for anything other that a really little dog or cat and I would inspect the stairs frequently to see if they are separating from their side supports.I enclosed photos on how to fix.I am also going to install some better carpet pieces as the felt they used is thin and flimsy. Definitely not claw proof. Also be very carefully to make sure that the support lock fully enguages when in use.

The material on the steps holds hair and debris and is hard to clean off. I found a solution
I bought one set of these stairs and I liked it so much because it was tall enough to reach the window (that my dogs use as a doggy door) plus the wood is solid and it matched my furniture. Why only 3 stars, you ask? I soon found that the material on the steps was like a scratchy side of Velcro and it held onto hair and debris like grass from my yard and hard to clean off. Plus my cats found it so fun to scratch and sharpen their claws on the top step at 5 AM. I solved this problem by carpeting the steps. Now the cats leave it alone and the hair is hidden and easy to vacuum. Be aware that if you buy these steps, they will look dirty all the time, unless your dog is the same color brown.

Love it! Beautiful & sturdy
This was an excellent buy. It's beautifully made, sturdy and easy to move. I'm very pleased that I purchased these for our two pomeranian's. I have it on hardwood floors and I haven't had any issues with it shifting. It arrived ready to use, once removed from the box. The support slides out easily and is a sturdy and solid piece of wood. Because it's made out of wood it's a little heavy when moving it. I have it stationary at all times and I don't fold it up and store it anywhere else so that's not an issue for me. I absolutely love the look and the material used on the steps (so your dog won't slip.) It's been a life saver and I highly recommend these. The only downside about the stairs is the fur that clings to the steps (due to the kind of material used.) But as others have said, you can attach different material to them; if it really bothers you. I just vacuum off the hair every now and then, I'm use to living with dog hair all over everything.

Attractive doggie stairs.
I bought these steps for my 2 year old dog. She is 12-13 lbs. My bed is tall and she has a hard time jumping on the bed and wants me to lift her up. I had hurt my shoulder and couldn't resolve the pain until I got these stairs and stopped picking her up from the bed with my sore shoulder. Had to teach her to use them using a few treats and then absolutely refusing to lift her onto the bed. It took her five minutes to figure it out but a lot longer to want to use them and stop begging me to lift her up. She still takes a double take and then a flying jump to run up them for some reason. I was worried they wouldn't reach the top of the bed's mattress because it is 28 inches tall and the steps are 20 inches high, put they fit perfectly; she just has one more jump to make. The color of the wood matches pretty good to the bed finish. I would recommend it and I would buy it again. I don't think there wa anything to put together either. if there was it was easy enough for my 12 yr old to do and I can't remember it. I posted a few pictures.

JUNK! Don't buy!! Save yourself the trouble.
Wow, how can they sell this product? It fell apart even before I can take it out of the box & looking from the box, it had been returned more than once. It is a piece of junk and I'm being generous in my rating!! How can Amazon carry a product from this supplier? Supplier, Shame on you!!Photos are taken while still in box. I was afraid it would be a pile of wood when taken out that I couldn't even fit back in. It should be fire wood!

They work, but could be a lot better with only a minimal price increase via non-slip pads underneath and slightly thicker carpet
It's pretty good. It's sturdy enough not to be worried about it breaking under the weight of our 60lb dogs, but don't be fooled by the photos: it is made of a particle-board like material with a thin veneer on top. The carpeting is a very thin layer, providing only a hint of traction for dog claws. There is also no traction on the undersides, meaning that if it's on a hard surface it will slip and slide around as your dog tries to use it. We bought some adhesive rubber pads from Lowe's and applied them to the underside in order to solve that problem, but the dogs are still wary of the steps having fallen off once or twice in the past.

These are amazing! We gave 2 full grown (and aging
These are amazing! We gave 2 full grown (and aging!) golden retrievers. One is so spoiled, and such a baby that she is convinced she cannot jump on our bed by herself (she can I've seen her jump twice as high to catch a ball) so every night, often multiple times a night, she would be lifted up onto the bed. I became concerned about her hips, my son was not good at lifting her and I saw it as a safety hazard for both of them.If my biggest baby of a golden will go up them you can train your dog too!, it only took about 2 days to get her comfortable with them. She is still (several months later) not great at it (its like shes never seen stairs before) and hesitates and thinks too hard about how to climb stairs, sometimes she hits her feet on the stairs. But, I believe this is individual dog use issues, not an issue of the stairs. They look nice, usually. I wish the felt was something less hair-clinging.

Highly Recommend
These pet steps are an excellent purchase. Bought them for our older cat who was having trouble jumping onto the bed. As soon as I put the steps out, he knew precisely what to do. The colour is rich expensive looking; matches our bedroom decor perfectly. The depth of each step and the distance from one step to the next is perfectly manageable for a cat. Most stair units are too short but this one is taller making it great for a higher than usual bed. The cat even likes to sit at a downward slope with hind legs on one step and front legs on the other. This is a solid and sturdy piece of equipment. No assembly required. Excellent value. Highly recommend this product.

Great!
Nearly perfect! My only is that it's too high to slide under my bed when not in use, otherwise I'm thrilled!I have a high bed, 16" pillow top with box spring so was worried these would be too short, but they're okay. The step off the top to the mattress is nearly the same height as the other steps, which is perfect.I was quite surprised by the quality of the stairs!

Perfect kitty steps to the bed
These steps are great value for the price. My arthritic hipped cat was having trouble jumping onto a stool which was halfway to the top of the bed, the steps solved the problem immediately as they are quite small increments. He now uses them almost every time he gets on or off the bed. They fold flat and can slide under the bed out of the way when not required.

Looks nice, works, but a bit steep for my pug.
The stairs are pretty good, but they’re a bit steep. This is good because they take up less space however they’re a bit too steep for my pug when she goes down them. Also when she jumps from the top step to the bed, she often kicks them away from the bed. I put double sided tape on the bottom to help keep it in place. Loved how they came preassembled out of the box, and it looks nice.

My dog is scared to use it, slides. Not great for bigger dogs
Bought it for my golden retriever who is having a hard time getting into the bed, she's terrified of it and it has no grips so it slides making it not very sturdy so i don't blame her.
