It was a gift I purchased for a good friend. I was amazed how hard it was, visiting lots of brick and mortar stores, to find a cassette player. My friend loves it

DOES NOT WORK, DON'T BUY THIS
Product doesn't work, and not only does it NOT play the tape, it ate it and it took a long time before we were able to take the tape out. Terrible!UPDATE: After sometime we finally got the tape un-stuck and the recorder does work now. So I am revising my rating to a 3. Time will tell if it breaks down again.

This product is a total waste of money
Unfortunately there is not a minus rating. This product is a total waste of money. Not only did the volume button break off the first time I tried to use it--but it also "ate" the tape of a dying woman which was one of her treasures. Save yourself the hassle and do not even consider purchasing this product.

Defective product
I bought this product for Mother's Day to give to my mother so she could play her old cassette tapes while she gardened. I chose this one because you could put batteries in it would be portable. She was delighted with it until we put brand new batteries in it and it would not turn on. It worked with the adapter, but the battery compartment was apparently defective.

It arrived and I was so excited until I plugged ...
It arrived and I was so excited until I plugged it in only to find out the recorder and microphone did not work. It cost me $15.00 postage to return it. My lesson learned is to never again buy anything online. I am 80 years old and certainly didn't need this aggregation. I thought I might be reimbursed my $15.00 postage because it was not my fault the stereo was defective but no one cared one way or the other.
