I've just received my case today and I am so pleasantly surprised. I was scared to purchase based off of the mixed reviews but my previous case (a LifeProof) was wearing away and this was a much cheaper option so I decided to go for it anyway. Before I put my phone in the case I placed a dry paper towel inside, made sure to completely seal the edge of the case and then submerged it in water for three hours while I did my homework. When I took it out the paper towel was completely dry, so I know that this case is waterproof.Though it's not the smartest move, I also test my phone cases with the phone inside by tossing them from heights that I normally would. This ranges from fumbling it up to a foot to dropping it four feet. In both instances my phone remained safe inside. I can't imagine anyone will be dropping it from much higher.It fit my iPhone 5c perfectly as well. Since I noticed a lot of people had issues with the fit, my advice is that you MAKE SURE YOU BOUGHT THE RIGHT PRODUCT! An iPhone 5c is NOT the same thing as an iPhone 5!! If you buy a case for the opposite phone and try to jam it on it will break!! Always double check that they sent you the right product and that you ordered the right product for your phone. I promise you it will fit if you do this. (Also there was no issue with the sound after. Nothing is muffled once you put the case on)Also, for those who had trouble taking their phone out of the case: the case is meant to fit very tight so that it remains dust proof. However, the case comes with this small pepper-shaped tool that you can use to take the case off. You place the "leaf" in the indent in the bottom corner and then twist to pop the corner up. From there, go around the edge until both sides of the case are free.I'm easily recommending this to my family for when their LifeProof cases wear out. I think the quality is excellent and the price is infinitely better than the 90$ I paid for my last one. Should any issues pop up I'll be sure to update my review but so far I see nothing wrong.

Fits the iPhone 5 nicely. Like the color and the strap, but I'm not much of a fan of the rubber coverings over the charge and earbud holes. Hoping they don't rip off eventually. Have dropped it a few times and it's fine. No water spills, so don't know how well it works with that.UPDATE: I received the case May 18. It is August 8 and the rubber covering has ripped off the charging/earbud openings. The small switch on the side of the case that controls me turning my sound on and off, has also broken off. My phone is now stuck on silent unless I wish to take the case apart every time I want to turn my sound on/off. Very unhappy with that, and I'm not even sure how or why the switch broke. I can deal with the rubber covering, but the switch is a big drawback for me.Update 2: I contacted the company that makes this case, because in the product description it stated that if there was anything defective within the one year warranty, they would replace it or refund me. I contacted them twice and got no response. Very unhappy, wouldn't buy from them again.

The color of the case is nice and the case tested waterproof as promised and at first it seemed pretty sturdy. -- Their are however 2 notable drawbacks to this case. First, the plug for the power and headphone area tore off the 1st day because of the way it is barely attached between the two outlets. Second, after only a few weeks the case cracked when I dropped my phone, so obviously was no longer waterproof. In the future, I will spend extra on a brand that backs it's product and offers replacements when they become damaged.

Ok, so last week I reviewed this product as good and compared it to my Lifeproof that I had for years.....I jumped the gun on that one. Two days ago my phone fell a very short distance onto the ground and my phone was destroyed. I had to order a new phone because the case didn't protect it at all. Also, today as I put my new phone into the case the switch that silences your phone broke off. Over all I've had this case a week and I'm about to throw it away. Horrible, just buy the Lifeproof and save yourself the trouble.

The case fits the phone perfectly and looks great as well. We had an issue with the adapter cord so I contacted Merit and they were very responsive and helpful. They put a new one in the mail right away. We received it within a week and now it works great. Great product and great customer service!

Do not waste your money! The phone case is protective so far, but it is extremely challenging for me to close. Whenever I try to talk to someone either on the phone or over FaceTime, the other person can't hear me so I have to struggle to take it off and eventually attempt to put it on again. My head phones also do not fit into the hole. It has a cable to connect it so it will, but it stopped working within 2 minutes and I haven't gotten to work since. I don't recommend anyone get this case. It had good reviews for the most part, but that was a lie

Very hard snapping the case together. Does not fit very well with a screen protector over it. With a little elbow grease it snapped together. then it broke.

Not the best quality. The headphone and charging piece is loose after a few short weeks. The screen scratches easily. Tough to change the volume. Won't purchase again.
