Excellent item Highly recommend!!!
This is a really super nice portfolio case for the ipad mini. It is lightweight and actually is lighter than some just plain cases. It is nicely constructed and feels good. Fits the mini real nice. The only negative thing is there is no measurements for the notepad and no way to get refills. Yes I can measure it it is just annoying not to be able to get the right refills for it. Another possible negative is if you want to have it in landscape mode or upright you have to prop it up against something. That is not a factor for me since I use a marware ceo case which meets my needs when I don't need to go to a meeting. I am very pleased with it and find it really handy to put in my scottevest pocket and go to meetings without carrying something bulky or heavy. Might even get one for my regular ipad since it is so light. Now if they would make one for the Kindle Fire 8.9 or Nook HD that would be equally nice!!!!!

Not perfect but I still like it
The product is great, its handy especially for work purposes. The only two things I would have appreciated would have been a camera slot and an iPad self stand to allow viewing movies/slides on a table top. Otherwise, I really like using this case for work and the note pad is just perfect.

iPad Mini + my Rx pad
Here's the thing.... it is the only iPad Mini I found with the ability to keep a notepad (perfect for Rx writing) and makes the Mini accessible for patient ed, etc. That said, I HAVE to like it. However, there are a few flaws in its manufacturing. Let me explain:PROs(1) Dual use -- awesome. awesome. awesome.(2) Leather is good enough. Looks professional.CONs(1) The pen holder tucks into the iPad mini flag tucker-in-thing... this is annoying. Not awful, but annoying(2) The leather around the iPad holder is a bit flimsy, as others have mentioned. However, I did not find that my Mini shifts around really. Aesthetically, it just doesn't look as nice as some others.(3) I would have liked a hand strap on the back for function (and for klutzy people like myself).(4) It is a bit bulkier than I expected. More padding, looks like a clunky day planner.(5) The menu button is a little obscured by the case. Not a huge deal, but again, annoying. You have to come at the button perpendicularly. All in all, I think I am keeping it because I need that dual functionality... but I am wee bit depressed that no one has come up with a better design.

A great product with a hidden feature.
The Booq Pad Folio is a very nice product, smartly constructed and sturdy enough to protect your iPad Mini from a short drop on a carpeted surface. The notepad is big enough and comfortable. The pen holder will hold a regular sized pen with the pad closing nicely over it. The hidden feature? The pad folds in half and stays that way for a landscape view. I have not had any issues that the other reviewers have had i.e.. iPad sliding around, poor construction. I really like this product and recommend it highly.

Just don't waste your money on this one
My husband wanted a case that could double as a pad-folio of some sort so he opted for this case. The picture does not show how bulky it actually it and not just that when it came it was black leather (not sure if it’s real leather but it was black!). It says that it is black and gray so the product color/material was not what it was shown to be. The loop that holds the pen is also weird. It doesn’t really look like a pen loop. It is the brand of case, kind of like a tag on shirts or pants. It is not very well made to be used as a pen loop. It actually takes effort to pull the pen out of the loop. The paper pad is also poorly made. After about 3-4 notes the whole pad fell apart leaving the cardboard stuck inside the slot and the pad of paper separate from the case. We were going to return it but the paper pad fell apart and we lost it after a day so all the pieces went missing and we didn’t think we could return. I may try to call Amazon and see if anything can be worked out. Nonetheless 45 bucks down the drain.

Maybe it's just me...
...but i feel that the iPad should sit on the right hand side. This is my main concern regarding the Booq Folio. Other than this, I like the quality and feel of the material used.

Good iPad Mini Cover
This is a good protective cover for the iPad Mini. It fits very well, and I especially like the fact that It holds the iPad on the left and the note pad on the right. However, if you are left handed, this can be reversed. It has held up very well through much use and travel. The replacement pads are a bit hard to find and are pricey.

Smart Case
I didn't realize that this was not a smart case until I received it. It doesn't mention it anywhere in the description, but being a $40 case, the manufacturer could have easily included some magnets in it.I do like the fact that you can reverse the iPad and the notebook by putting them in upside down. By doing that, it puts the snap on the back of the case though. Not a huge deal, though. All in all, I like the case. I would definitely purchase a second generation if it was also a smart case.
