E EGOWAY A1425 Replacement Laptop Battery for MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch A1437 (Late 2012, Early 2013 Version)

Installation wasn't the easiest TBH - but the guide was detailed which helped the process. I was debating getting a new mac since I purchase my mac book pro in 2012 and couldn't get the battery to hold a charge unless it was constantly plugged in which made moving the laptop within my home/using for work/taking places difficult. So glad I decided to try the battery replacement and wish I had done it sooner. Saved a lot of money and annoyance! Would strongly recommend.

Installing the new battery into my computer following the instructions was easy to do. The package only contain a single glove when I opened it, but it did not matter to me that much. The main issue was the battery only works when plugged in. My old battery can actually last for 45 min unplugged so this $70 purchase was useless. Look elsewhere for replacement battery.

Decided to get this to put some new life into my MacBook Pro late 2012 retina. Could not have been happier. Works just like advertised, and basically plug and play if you’re not too clumsy. Would recommend to anyone looking to replace their’s and don’t want to pay extra for Apple to replace it.

The unit did not come with instructions, but there are a million YouTube videos that will walk you through the operation. The swap takes about 15-30 minutes depending on how careful you are with the different parts, disassembling and putting back together, familiarity working under the hood of the MBP, etc. I was disappointed that it did not include adhesive remover but at this age of machine, I was able to gently pry the old batteries out (Warning: Do NOT puncture old battery, good chance of combustion and then it will be a HDD/SDD recovery mission before you MBP is converted to scrap). The fact that I didn't need to use the adhesive remover saved some cleanup time. The adhesive liner that comes with it seems good quality and is same size of battery footprint in the MBP for max adhesion. You do not want the battery moving around inside for obvious reasons but also when you are walking around with the laptop the battery will shift inside and make little thud noises as it goes from vertical to horizontal and be somewhat annoying (there is about 1/4-inch gap between bottom of battery and interior of bottom case).Per several websites dedicated to the science of batteries, I gave full charge plus a few more hours (overnight ideally) and then drained the battery from 100% to ~0% with even load to calibrate power management system. All done!I've had bad luck with replacement batteries in the past, but this one seems solid, not as good as factory but almost as good. Hopefully I won't be back with any revisions to this review.

This battery will fit MacBook Pro 13 inch A1425. This is actually the second battery we are trying. It is also more expansive than the other brand.Replacement of the battery is easy. You can find Youtube clips for step by step instruction. The package comes with all the tools you need to replace the battery. This battery has decent runtime. About 5 hours on the heavy working load with multiple tasks opened. After a month, the battery is still going strong.

I installed the new battery into my computer following the instructions, it was easy to do. The problem I had was the computer either did not recognize the new battery or the battery was not working. It showed the battery was fully charged, but when I unplugged the computer, it would just shut off as if no battery was in it. I removed the battery and reinstalled it a few times with no luck. I finally took the "new" battery out and installed the old battery. The computer worked with the old battery (the old battery lasts for about ten minutes, that's why I tried to replace it). This was a waste of $70.00!

This is a great product!! Affordable!!! Works!! Fits like a glove!!! 100% would recommend to anyone who would need a battery for their MBP, just make sure you know what you are doing!!

The battery worked well when it worked. But it stopped working just after one year (placed order on Jan. 5, 2020), conveniently right after the warranty expired. Battery health condition: Service Battery. Full capacity is 4252 mAh, but can never charge to more than 650 mAh. Hoped it would last a bit longer. Only 25 cycles.

Guter Akku, kommt halb voll geladen in sehr guter Verpackung. Über die Dauer seiner Haltbarkeit kann man kurz nach dem Kauf logischerweise nichts sagen.

Leider war es schlecht erklärt und der Tausch hat nichts gebracht.

Product seems good. Could be improved by inclusion of solvent and tools for removing the old battery and instructions (google/YouTube to the rescue. My low score for ease of installation reflects more on apple’s bonkers design than on the battery!

Erst das Gute: die Rückabwicklung verlief reibungslos und die beiliegenden Schraubendreher passen zu den Schrauben. Zur Batterie: das Blech unter der Hauptbatterie wurde falsch bzw. verdreht montiert, die Löcher sind dadurch nicht mit der Befestigung im Macbook kompatibel, man kann nur eine der drei Schrauben verwenden, oder man bohrt neue Löcher. Die Laufzeit der Batterie ist nach ein paar Ladezyklen zur Kalibrierung bei normaler Verwendung des Computers nur knapp 4 Stunden. Der Zustand der Batterie ist innerhalb von 10 Ladezyklen auf 81% abgesunken, statt der angegebenen 6400 mAh sind laut Systeminformation nur noch 5215 übrig, die Laufzeit beträgt 3,5 Stunden. Da war die 8 Jahre alte Original-Batterie fast noch besser. In der Systeminformation wird der Hersteller der Batterie mit "SMP" angegeben, das ist ein OEM Hersteller von original Apple Batterien, die angebliche Seriennummer findet sich zu tausenden im Netz, demnach dürfte die Information auf dem Eprom der Batterie falsch sein, das Teil ist eine No Name Batterie billigster Machart. Die erste Batterie wurde nach Beschwerde meinerseits getauscht bzw. es wurde mir eine weitere geschickt mit denselben falschen Löchern, auf einen Test im Macbook habe ich verzichtet. Fazit: Auf keinen Fall kaufen!

This is not much fun to install, but thanks to youtube's help it's entirely doable in about half an hour. Just make sure you find the tutorial where the battery looks the same! You need to be fairly nimble with a teeny screwdriver - which is supplied.I first bought this in late 2019, and got a year's life out of it, which I didn't think was too bad. But when I put in another earlier this year, it turns out that actually the charger was broken - so perhaps I could have kept the first replacement in longer.It's scary to think of how many MacBooks might have gone to landfill just because Apple discourages people from repairing their shiny aspirational baubles. This helps redress that balance. Well worth trying - but remember the problem might also be the charger - that took me by surprise. Good luck!
