Controltech Triathlon TT Top Tube Storage Rubber Case Box with Strap ATTK, BAG-01, ST1782

I recently purchased the Controltech Triathlon TT Top Tube Storage Rubber Case Box for my triathlon races and rides, but unfortunately, it didn't work as well as I had hoped. While it did work well for smaller triathlons and rides, when I used it on my Ironman race, it just slid down and was unusable. I was disappointed because I had high hopes for the product, but it just didn't work for my needs. However, I will say that the storage box itself is well-made, and the rubber case provides good protection for your items. Overall, I would recommend this product for smaller races and rides, but I wouldn't recommend it for longer and more intense races.

I think that I was imagining that this would be the same size as the Topeak brand "fastfuel dribox", which is the closest equivalent that I can think of in terms of a rubber tri fuel box with no zip/quick access. However this is probably about half the size. Its good for a mobile phone or a few gels but not a lot more.It is easy to install with two rubber straps although on a Trek Domane top tube the front strap is a little short / could do with being longer - it was a real pain to try and install because it was only just long enough to wrap around the tube.It feels high quality and well made. It is nice and narrow so sits comfortably within the width of the top tube, meaning that there's no risk of it hitting knees/thighs on the pedal stroke.If you don't need a massive amount of storage, I can recommend it. If you do want a little more space though, the Topeak does offer probably double the storage.
