Disston E0101949 Blu-Mol Lock Installation Kits Professional Bi-Metal Lock Kit, Red

The problem was that I had an old door on which the door knob failed. None of the current door knobs would fit. The original hole was about 1/4" smaller than any replacement I could find. So, I thought the Disston E0101949 would do the trick. However; since there was all ready a hole I was concerned that there was nothing for the 1/4" centering drill to index on and hold the 2 1/8" hole saw in position. I thought It might bite into the door and move the Disston out of position and bugger up the door. The centering drill was there for a reason - right? Why would Disston go to the trouble and expense of including the drill if it wasn't necessary. Well for my hollow core wood door the jig worked just great (the 1/4" centering drill is probably for steel). I did take it slow to minimize the chance that it would grab and jerk out of position.This is an excellent product that I highly recommend. I was not paid for this review.

Beware mandrel & pilot drill doesn't fit the smaller latch holesaw (somebody goofed) luckily & had one that fit. Otherwise a good value, decent quality. Probably not durable enough for constant contractor use in the lock business unless you're really careful, but did the trick for installing 13 commercial lock sets @ my church... and is still just fine for more use.

Used for dead bolt install. Did the job. Only issue is a little flimsy but that's with price and the adapter for the small hole saw was missing. Not sure on me or them.

I'm a locksmith and I don't use them much but if when someone before me has put the holes in the wrong place I use this and it guides the hole saws back in the right place to make the install easier

I liked how it created the correct pattern, but was not sure if enough and really had to pound on a few doors. Needs some chiseling as well after pulling out the main blank of wood.

This kit has helped us with replacing all of the doors in our house. We had made the decision to replace all of our hollow doors with solid core. We had already painted all of the slabs and needed something that would not scratch up the doors. This did the job well since it clamps onto the door. You will still need to be careful as the hold is not perfect, but it did the job for us. We used it to install 9 doors and it held up. Not sure it should be used for a professional, but good enough to get by for the average home owner.

I would keep looking before getting this one, especially if you have never done this before. The plastic moves a lot, and can move very easily as you before you even begin boring your hole. It has 2 through which you can tighten the guide on to the door, but it comes with only one handle, meaning either the top or the bottom remains somewhat loose. The spacers also move constantly and don't stay in place as you tighten everything. Bottom line, you have to spend a lot of time on setting everything up, only to have it shift around on you as you begin drilling the hole...and that would not be good. I should have kept looking before ordering this one. I came across some other ones where the guide actually gets screwed into the door, ensuring it stays in place. I just wish I had done my homework before purchasing this one.

Was satisfatory as guide for enlarging thru door holes but there is no mandrel to fit small hole saw for latch so that is useless. Good thing I did not need to redrill those. Need to have manufacture send me a small mandrel.

La broca sierra tiene demasiada oscilación, pues no sienta de manera horizontal sobre la broca central. Tuve que usar otra broca sierra porque era imposible intentarlo con la que venía en el kit.
