This is the perfect companion to the apeman dash cam and should be part of the dashcam package in my opinion. The cable is flat so taking off a bunch of panels was unnecessary.Tips for easy DIY installation:Simply unwind and stretch out the cable so it is flat. Stick the g-sensor high on the windshield as your anchor point, and use a credit card or trim tool to tuck the flattened out cable behind the edge of the overhead trim working towards the driver's side. Continue down the windshield and use your tool to tuck the flattened cable into the tight edges of the dash. If your car is like mine (2010 Golf) you will have a fuse access panel in the end of the dash visible only with the driver door opened. Pop open the panel with a plastic tool to avoid damage. Feed the cable through this access area and plug into the OBDII port. Coil up excess cable and zip tie it to another bundle of wires.Voila! Easy as pie!!

Very satisfied with the quality of this product. I bought this kit for my dashcam recorder (APEMAN C450). The hardwire kit is incredibly easy to install for the car. To install it, you simply need to plug the cable to the OBD-II port in your vehicle (search Google to find its location in your vehicle) and then connect it to your dashcam. The sensor is very sensitive and it will turn on once the car is vibrated (so it doesn't drain your battery). Thus, if someone messes with your car there's a high chance the camera recorded it. It also stays running for 5 minutes after you leave the car. The cord is long enough to make it running around the corners so it won't disrupt the look of the car's interior look & design.

I prefer this solution over connecting a wire to the fuse box (less hassle and doesn't require any electrical tools). In terms of the g-sensor's sensitivity, the camera started recording when I close my car door. Your dashcam is still working after your car turned off (see the clip) since dashcam being powered from car battery. It is really cool that your car can be watched 24 hours!

This is the hardware (read car-communication kit) for the APEMAN C450. To keep it simple - the standard cable just provides power whereas this allows the camera to be activated by the car's sensors as opposed to just it's own accelerometer.The other benefit here is that this allows the camera to utilize the car's power system without your ignition being on.This is great in case of any sort of unattended bumps or parking lot backing accidents. I've become quite obsessed with backing into nearly every parking space I park in. As a next step, I'm considering the upgrade to the front and rear camera set which I'm sure this is completely compatible with!Enjoyed every Apeman product I've had so far (C450 Series A, C450, and this hardware kit!) and look forward to adding to that to the set eventually!

Had problems with using my car's front port as my dashcam's power source (drains battery sometimes). Plugging it directly to a less phantom-drain-susceptible circuit makes it less stressful hoping that I didn't accidentally strand my car on the sidewalk again and waste time jumping it.

Install was easy and the product works as it should. I would give it 5 stars if the price was lower and if the would include some paperwork explaining exactly what it does and when. I spent quite a bit of time testing it after install to determine that it was working properly because all I had to go by was the product description on line. As it turns out the cable turns on the camera when the car door is opened on my 2014 Mazda 3. Would recommend to Apeman dash camera owners with cars that have a power outlet that is always powered on.

This cable is worth buying for two main reasons. 1) It has a built-in G-Meter that "locks" the camera's micro SD card so that, in case of an accident, the footage cannot be written over. 2) This cable plugs into your vehicles ALDL connector (located under the far left side of the dash) rather than the camera's included cigarette lighter plug. It has electronics in it that can sense if your battery voltage falls beneath a certain voltage and will not let the cameras run your battery down. It also allows you to activate the camera's motion sensor and other things. This cable was much easier to weave around my vehicle and (in spite of the really long length) actually was a shorter and cleaner install to plug into the ALDL. Well worth the $20.

Bought this apeman kit for my apeman c860 dual camera to ensure compatibility the usb connector does not fit? The camera is micro USB B and the kit is USB (mini b) 5 pin. Very disappointing and no details on either when ordering

This is my second apeman C450 dash cam kit, the first one is super reliable. So I have bought a second one for my wife's car. But this one i have installed for almost a month. We found it is not sensitive, even my wife open the boot door, which is not detectable, the dashcam still not turn on! I have double-checked the sensor of C450, I found the sensor box which is loose. I guess which is a refurbished item. I try to contact the seller for a replacement, but only a link to their website. I hope Amazon could help me contact the seller, send a new one to replace my damaged one.

Hatte das Hardwirekit direkt mit der Dashcam mitbestellt um gleich eine ordentliche Verkabelung hinzubekommen. "Installation" sofern man das so nennen möchte ist entsprechend einfach. Stecker in die OBD Dose des Fahrzeugs, Kabel verlegen, den Sensor irgendwo am Fahrzeug befestigen und den Stecker in die Kamera. Fertig.Durch den festen Verbau des Kabels ist dann auch die +12V Steckdose des Fahrzeugs wieder frei, und falls die Werkstatt mal an die OBD Dose muss, kann sie den Stecker einfach abziehen.Der Sensor erkennt bei abgestelltem Fahrzeug Erschütterungen, sodass die Dashcam die Aufzeichnung startet ohne dass sie dauerhaft laufen muss. Eine gute Lösung was den Stromverbrauch angeht.In meinen Augen ein sinnvoller Invest zur Kamera dazu, wenn man es ordentlich verbauen möchte.

Da mein Audi A2 leider eine 12V Dose mit Dauerstrom hat, habe ich mir dieses Set gekauft. Ansonsten würde die Dashcam ja rund um die Uhr laufen.Was soll ich sagen? Funktioniert besser wie erwartet. Das Kabel ist lang genug, und auch recht schmal um es einfach hinter der Verkleidung bzw. den Gummilippen der A Säule zu verstecken. Verkleidungen abbauen musste ich dazu nicht.Der G-Sensor ist sehr empfindlich. Alleine das Öffnen der Tür reicht schon, um die Kamera zu aktivieren. Perfekt!Was aber auch bedeuten könnte, das man öfters mal die in der Dashcam eingesetzte SD Karte kontrollieren sollte. Sonst ist die SD irgendwann voll, da die Cam die gesperrten Dateien nicht löschen kann. Aber diese Arbeit nehme ich gerne in Kauf :)Würde ich sofort wieder kaufen.

Mit diesem Kabel bekommt die Dashcam über die OBD-II-Schnittstelle des Autos durchgehend Strom und beginnt automatisch aufzunehmen, wenn man mit dem Auto fährt oder der Vibrationssensor Bewegung wahrnimmt. Das Kabel ist ausreichend lang um es elegant im Auto zu verlegen. Eine super Ergänzung zur APEMAN-Dashcam!
