This book makes me happy!
What a perfect little treasure! Reading it and enjoying Kadir Nelson's absolutely beautiful artwork makes me just downright happy. I just received it today and am going to order additional copies right now . This makes a wonderful gift for anyone - children, those with children and those without!

A relatable and lighthearted book for any toddler (and parent)
Our daughter LOVED this book when she was a toddler.I'm sure she found all of this baby's antics very relatable (stopping to look at "fluffies" - or dandelions in particular!).The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and the story is perfect for a toddler's attention span. Now I purchase this book for anyone who is expecting.

Lots of beautiful bright pictures must have for toddler
The media could not be loaded. So my 2 toddlers love this book! I had it before my 1 year old didn’t want to put the book down she took it in the bath tub with her and ruined the book so I reordered it. This book is an easy read my 3 year old is reading the book on the attached video I think they enjoy it so much because it’s so relatable to them lol they bring this book to me almost every day and want me to read it to them or with them I find myself reading it more than once a day!

A perfect addition to our daughter's library
I purchased this for our 1 year old daughter's growing library! My partner and I are of Indian ancestry, and we are Canadians, so having books that mirror the multiculturalism we live in, is important. Most children's books showcase characters like 'Jack' and 'Jill' and they are usually representing someone of British ancestry. This keeps supporting the late 1800's and early 1900's philosophy that Canada (and the US) are 'white' nations. We have been selective in finding books that represent diversity and also showcase girls and women through a broader range than Disney's fairytale princesses. This book definitely delivered on many fronts! Having representation of an African ancestry family, with the central character 'baby' behaving like any child, across cultures, was important as many multiculture books will showcase characters only in the context of a specific culture... Like an Indian ancestry child wanting to try on her mother's saris. I still think those books are important because they help locate specific cultural issues as normal, as everyday, as valuable because they are in books, but we also need books that showcase 'ethnic' ancestry characters doing everyday things like swimming, playing catch at the park, doing homework ... We know 'Jack and Jill' do their homework but so do Gilat, Rahim, Priya, Mumtaz, Wen Shing, Chin etc! This book highlights that important issue and depicts a cute little girl, whose parents have to plead 'please baby please' to stop doing this or that! And the repetition of please baby please is great for kids to follow along! The illustrations are wonderful. Realistic, but playful. Tonya Lewis Lee and Spike Lee did a great job! We need more books that represent our rich diversity! Two mummy thumbs up!

Huge hit for ALL 2-year-olds
I first purchased this book about four years ago when my daughter was about 2 years old and it was a huge hit with my kid! Now I'm a stepmom to my guy's 2-year-old who is very active like the child in the story, maybe more so... Needless to say, the book is a huge hit for her, too, and my 6-year-old likes to listen in when I read to the 2-year-old! It brings back great memories for my older girl and sparks a sense of familiarity for my younger girl since she does ALL of the same things as the adorable protagonist!Additionally there are just enough words to hold the attention of a toddler and the illustrations are perfect for a brief discussion of each scene. "Do you think it's okay to put your soiled diaper in the toy box? No... Where should we put our soiled pull-ups? That's right - in the trash can!!"The pictures are also great for developing the skill to identify things. "Can you find the banana among all the bubbles? Can you find the puppy on this page? Look at this baby's cute, curls! Do you have curly hair?"I can't say enough great things about this book! I am not at all a fan of Spike's films, but I do love his children's books!!

Cute book for toddlers !
I loved the illustrations in the book as did my toddler child! I wasn’t as excited about the text , and felt there could have been more as a parent to read to my child but overall the rhyming in the book was cute and makes for an easy read and enjoyable story time experience . I wouldn’t suggest this book for kids over the age of 2 because of the simple language and storyline . Overall well done to the illustrator and author !
