A great use for an otherwise useless slot
Other than giving me a place to look for lint in my MacBook, I've been clueless for years why I had the SD slot on the side. Now, I have a good use for it. Yes, the SD slot is slow compared to the SSD or even an external USB drive. But I now have 64GB of additional space (read: I can offload 64GB of stuff from my internal drive). So I parked my iTunes library (other than movies & TV shows) plus my iPhoto library on the Nifty MiniDrive (plus a 64GB microSD card that I bought). It's plenty fast enough for those files. The Nifty for the 13" MBP Retina fits perfectly flush. So no more lint and a bunch more useful storage. Score!I'd give it a 5-star but I think it's a bit pricey for what it is. Still worth it, but it's really just a form-fitting SD adapter (and you get non-form-fitting ones for free when you buy a microSD card these days).

Previously had bad review. Works great now except...
I had previously left a bad review but figured out it was a mistake on my part. Make sure to put the micro SD card into the Nifty for use! lol I am one who does not read directions. I thought it was just a bonus when I saw it! I can't figure out how it can be up to 128 gig of storage.. Do i buy a separate micro SD?

Another happy Yoga 2 Pro user!
As another reviewer has already reported you do have to make a simple modification, but otherwise this adapter is a nearly perfect solution for adding storage to the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. Like the Macbooks, the Y2P has a half-depth SD card slot so it is not practical to leave a full size SD card installed. Enter the Nifty MiniDrive to save the day.The modification simply involves filing down the ends of the aluminum cap so that the ends do not extend beyond the plastic of the adapter. Look at a picture and you will see what I am talking about. In case you are wondering about removing the adapter, don't worry. If you look at one of the pictures where you can see the "front" of the aluminum cap you will see two grooves separated by a solid area. There is a hole under that area. You stick the little removal hook they provide into that hole and pull the adapter out. I have not tried it, but it looks like a hook formed from a paper clip or other small gauge wire would work in a pinch. Heck, you could thread a length of heavy thread or fishing line through there, too.

Requires a slight modification, but works with my Lenova Yoga Pro 2
The Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 has an SD card slot that is only 16mm deep, thus a normal sized SD card sticks out the side a good 18mm+. I purchased this because the Apple Retina has an SD card slot that is only 15mm deep and I read that someone else was able to use this Nifty MiniDrive with their Yoga Pro 2 by modifying it slightly. As delivered, the MiniDrive is slightly too wide to fit into the SD card slot on the Yoga Pro 2. I used a metal file to file down about a half a millimeter off each side of the MiniDrive and now it fits into the SD card slot on my Yoga Pro 2 without sticking out. The modification took less than half a minute. My only complaint would be that the price is a bit much for what it is, but since it's the only option I'm aware of that works without sticking out it is what it is. It's nice to have an extra 64GB of storage (64 GB microSD card bought separately).

Nifty expects me to pay return shipping for sending me the wrong item.
Q: Does this fit the late 2013 13" Macbook Pro Retina? Thanks.A:Hi! - Yes it does :)Well, I ordered one based on this assurance and today I received a package from Nifty. It contained a Nifty MiniDrive Air 13".This does NOT fit the ate 2013 13" Macbook Pro Retina. In attempting to return it to Nifty in an exchange for the correct item, it turned out that I was expected to pay the return shipping cost. Not only is the company less than competent by shipping the wrong item, it also expects me to pay for this incompetence. This I refuse to do.

Amazing Product, 1 flaw
Amazing Product. I was a little disappointed by the fact that the drive did not fit perfectly centered in the slot, (There is a 1/64" gap on the right side). Still I am absolutely thrilled with it.I encrypted and passcode protected my MicroSD card that I use in it, so I use it to keep important documents on.The beauty of this is that if I want to hide things, all I have to do is eject the drive, but leave it in the slot. It would take a clever person to notice that it was there, and yet the information on the drive could not be accessed by the person using the computer.

Yet another happy Yoga Pro 2 user.
As expected, I had to file the edges. Basically, looking at the picture, you need to file down the gray that extends horizontally past the black. I used an emery board because one was handy. After that, it fit flush and works great, adding another 64 GB to my YP2.

Good so far - Note only 4 GB Micro SD
Works really well and sits flush in the computer. The only thing is I didn't realize that it only came with a 4 GB flash...the description says "up to 128GB" but it doesn't come with that amount. Just FYI.
