Galison I'd Rather Be Reading 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle for Adults and Families – Book Jigsaw Puzzle with Classic Quote – Fun Indoor Activity, Multicolor (735360537)

This puzzle breaks my heart. I love books and have read most of these, so I wanted to make this puzzle and frame it for my office. It is impossible to complete. The puzzle pieces are so similar, you can't figure out fit unless you have a color reference. Once you get away from the books to the solid white, it is game over. I have probably done 80+ 1,000 piece puzzles now, and this is the only one that has not been finished. I wish I could add a photo to show how far I was able to get.

Personally, I hated this puzzle. I knew it would be challenging based on the picture/design and it’s larger swatches of colors. What I didn’t realize is that every piece is the exact same basic shape: two innies and two outies per piece. I found this to be very frustrating and boring. Additionally, the underside of the puzzle is white which I had a hard time “tuning out” for some reason. I gave up and my roommate finished it for me. She didn’t dislike it as much as I did, for what it’s worth.

A lot of the pieces have flayed edges and the layers are separating. The manufacting process either did not use enough or did not distribute the glue evenly. About 60 out of the 1000 pieces are damaged like this. I am only giving this product 2 stars because the box it came in is nice and the image itself is pretty. Otherwise I am not happy with the quality of the pieces.

The white border of this puzzle is not cut very well and is therefore hard to put together. Many pieces seem as if they fit well, only to cause problems later. My puzzle was also missing one piece from the time travelers wife book image, which is supremely frustrating.

I would give this four and a half stars if I could, but since I can’t, I’m rounding up. All in all, this was a fun solve. I completed it by color, so I can’t speak to the ease of moving completed sections. The “I’d Rather Be Reading” text on the box is not on the puzzle image, but the included poster shows what is hidden by that graphic. There was a lot of puzzle dust, so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to it. The vertical orientation is a fun change of pace from the norm, and the similarities in colors make this complex but not overwhelmingly so. Pieces are pretty sturdy, and the matte finish on the box makes this a nice gift.

Galison makes beautiful puzzles- by far my favorite. I agree with the other reviewer, the Pomegranate Charley Harper puzzles are excellent same goes for Mudpuppy. The thickness of the puzzle pieces is noticeable.The illustration of this puzzle is extremely rich in color and was fun to do. The theme of plants and boho vibe make it a fun housewarming or weekend visitor gift.No, it is not extremely hard. We are avid puzzle solvers here, so in the count of a few evenings with some time spent on it, it was finished.Buy it-gift it- it’s beautiful!

REVIEW OF THE "BOOK CLUB" PUZZLEIt's somewhat annoying when Amazon bundles reviews like this for things that end up being completely different products; it's not like when the options are different quantities of a certain item, these are completely different puzzles! Anyway, I'm reviewing the Book Club puzzle, to be clear.It was really great and I highly recommend it! I had just completed one that was a bit too easy and one that was a bit too hard/boring/annoying, and this fell perfectly in the middle. It was really interesting figuring out how to attack it and once I decided, the pattern of everything makes it (relatively) quick—not too quick. That's the things with puzzles, right? You don't want them to be TOO easy or be TOO quick. I would say this was perfect on both ends. The design is very pretty and definitely framable, the pieces fit together well and are well-cut, and I absolutely love the message it sends. (The book titles are also very funny, because they're all riffs on famous books).RECOMMEND!

I purchased this because my 35 year old is a librarian and loves books! We had fun putting it together in 2 days on a beach trip, but I must say it was very challenging. There weren’t enough different sizes of the pieces, which made it more difficult in some of the areas of the puzzle, but we had tons of fun trying! And it did only take 24 full hours to complete! We loved the colors and books!

Disappointing. The item took a long time to arrive and I had to chase up the seller. I’ve been completing the puzzle whilst on lockdown and now it’s almost complete becomes clear that there is a piece missing. Not a cheap puzzle either so a waste of money and my time.

Love it! Great colour and size and NO frayed edges as I've seen in other reviews. Got me through a few days of lockdown!

Great product, exactly as described

La verdad me desanimó mucho la calidad. Incluso los rompecabezas de mi hija de 5 años tiene mejor calidad, en el sentido de que se puede poner mal, levantar y no se maltrata, estas sí. No necesariamente en el diseño, sino en la parte de abajo que es peor porque entonces la ficha no queda plana en la mesa, es molesto.Creo que uno paga por el diseño, no por la calidad de las fichas. No lo recomendaría.Además de que tardó una eternidad en llegar y desde que sale del país destino, hasta que ingresa a México, el proveedor no te manda ninguna comunicación, entonces pasas semanas sin saber nada de tu producto. Es muy molesto el proceso.

I am enjoying doing this great puzzle! The image is fun and true to the box. The pieces are high quality and fit together well. The difficulty level is great for puzzlers of different ages and abilities - with easier sections and areas with similar colours for more of a challenge. I’ve already been asked by a friend to pass onto their family once I’ve completed it. A charming and a little different than average image.
