Clearest, most practical and succinct book I've read on this.
Where most books dance around with a lot of theory ABOUT energy development, Richard Clear distills his vast experience to give you just what you need to know. Then he divulges the most effective methods that he has found to develop the skills he discussed. No encyclopedic deluge of things to practice. Just a simple, direct guide to achieving what is in the title : Chi Energy Activation, Cultivation, and Flow.I have tested the techniques he lays out in the book and have found them to be exceptionally easy to implement and simple to test for their effectiveness. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in developing the internal side of Tai Chi, Xingyi, Bagua, or any martial art for that matter. Let alone those just interested in the health and vitality that comes from Qigong.

Understandab.
I was looking for a book on Qi Gong that was understandable, suitable for a beginner. Clear's book was concise, with helpful illustrations. I have gone on to order his Level One program as I find his style easy to follow.

Richard Clear makes Chi and it's development clear.
I bought this book because I wanted to check out the author, Richard Clear. I had been to his website and was interested in some of his courses. But before I made an investment I wanted to read some of his to check out his writing style and level of expertise. This book,Chi Energy: Activation, Cultivation & Flow fit the bill. It is short, about 134 pages, and cheap. If you've never experienced your Chi or don't even know what it is, this is a good, basic introduction. This book contains beginner's level information and exercises that are fundamental to Tai Chi practice. If you think you're "above" beginner level teachings then you no doubt are capable of holding the "Embrace the Tree" posture for 20 minutes, which is beginner level.I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in Chi Kung and Tai Chi.

very good
Many books get bogged in theory. This one delivers in the practical details of how to practice to get results that are accrued quickly and he mentions some nuggets of internal arts esoterica that will change the way you do chi kung. good stuff, get this book.

it's intro alright.
this book is just meant for very very beginners who have no knowledge of this subject at all. it's large prints and filled with introduction info, and I mean intro info as all he does is define common terminology of tai chi and chi kung such as sung, chi, shen, jing,etc... Book show you three energy center of low, middle, top dan tien. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know. somehow the book makes it sound like it is advance but it's not. there is only like a few intro breathing exercise with movement, like 3-5 of them instructed to do many many repeatitions. no such description section on cultivating and flow other than tell you about microcosmic orbit pathway. there are way better books out there that covers more. the only useful thing I got was to do 100 squats a day and that isn't even energy practice related other than building strong legs and massaging organs so body can handle energy practices. I suggest checking it out first at bookstore before buying or look elsewhere for more in depth info. took me less than 15 mins to get all the info in my head and most was review of basics.
