I bought this respirator mask because I suffer from lupus. Also, I have been doing home improvement and have issues with breathing when inhaling paint fumes. I have also tested this outside because I have a severe grass allergy. I did not write my review until I had tested this extensively for about a week. I wanted to give the pros and cons and let you know how I feel about the product with honesty and make the review comprehensive. I did buy this mask with my own money so I am not obligated nor would I give a dishonest review. I think the price point is quite good for the fact that I feel like I can go out in public without worrying about what I might catch.Pros: Lots of designs to choose from ( just because you wear a mask doesn't mean you don't want to be fashionable )Good price point for the qualitySuper soft materialVery thick materialAdjustable ear loopsEasy breathing through the mask ( some previous masks of this type that I have tried causes me to feel like I can't breathe or I'm trapped )Paint fumes were not detected when I wore the maskWent outside while grass was being my mowed and I did not experience an allergic reactionLots of different sizesCons: this honestly isn't a real con because it was my fault. Be careful about the sizing. I think I ordered way too big for my needs but again that was my fault. I was able to adjust the ear loops so that it fits my faceA bit hot but that is to be expected with any mask that is thick and able to keep out dust, pollen, bacteria, and germs. I suspect this will be less of a problem in winter.I will be wearing this mask when I go out. I will not wear it every time but if there is a large event or during flu season I will be sporting the mask. I love the crown design. I also enjoy the fact that I can be somewhat fashionable while wearing a mask. People are going to stare if you wear a mask outside in public. Let them stare but at least I know the mask looks good. This may seem small for some people but when you have to wear these things quite often it's nice to have a choice on the pattern.I'm definitely thinking about ordering a second mask for myself in a different print and one for my mother who has just finished chemotherapy and radiation.I would suggest this mask to anyone who has a low immune system, dealing with chemotherapy etc., is dealing with chemicals that have fumes, or has allergies. It definitely is one of the most comfortable masks I have worn. The pictures should show you that the material is quite thick but it's also very soft to the touch so it doesn't irritate my skin.If you have any questions let me know. I definitely will be suggesting this mask to my other friends who have immune disorders and want to go out but also want to be fashionable. Paper masks definitely do not have the protection of this type of respirator mask. For reference: I'm comparing this mostly to a Totobobo mask I already owned. I don't like the Respro-type or the 3M-type masks because I want a pollution mask for cycling (during exertion) and those are too restrictive or too warm for summer use (or both). Granted, the Totobobo has it's own issues (lower rating for pollution particulates, flimsy straps).This review was sent to Cambridge Mask Company ahead of posting to get feedback first before I returned the item:---I can't get a good seal at the top edges under my eyes and my breath would fog my sunglasses while cycling. I found a couple specific positions where it wouldn't do this, but it's finicky from wearing-to-wearing. Too much fiddling and too much of a chance it will move breaking the upper seal.Also, the medical-style straps (around the ears) give me "elf ears" because they pull down on my upper ear causing my ears to flare; quite uncomfortable. Did the same thing to my girlfriend. Really wish you had a "around the back of the head" strap option like the Totobobo.---Their response was to add my own strap to make it "around the head." At this price point I'm not interested in hacking the item, and even attempts to pull it in various ways off my ears still didn't result in a consistent seal.They also suggested a larger mask, but honestly I don't think it will help the "elf ears" problem. I think this is a result of the straps being thick (a real medical mask or the Totobobo have much thinner straps). Also don't think larger would have made the under-eye seal any better.---I wanted to like this mask. The quality is great, it's comfortable, and it has alot of cool color options, but it has alot of room for improvement:• "Around the back of the head" strap option.• A bit stiffer nose bridge for a tighter seal that doesn't require adjustment after each use (i.e., stiffer metal?)• Perhaps *two* outlet valves instead of one. Maybe this would help keep the mask from floating off my face on exhale, especially under my eyes (top of mask) where I had issues?---I hope they keep improving the mask; this is the best one I've tried since buying my Totobobo and is a contender for comfort and convenience. If it fits *you* then I think you'll like it, but it doesn't work for me.

I can breath! My lungs were damaged by polyurethane gas when remodeling my attic, and my lungs became hypersensitive to VOCs (Organic Volatile Compunds - vapors or gases containing elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, sulfur or nitrogen). Basically, everything humans are pitting into the air. I couldn't ride my bike in the city, go dancing near second hand smoke, go to the gym after it had been cleaned, drive with my top down, do yoga outside near car exhaust, attend outside festivals near car exaust or second hand smoke... my whole life had changed.This mask gave me some of my freedom back. It's had to dance in when I start breathing heavy, but if I keep my breath steady, and don't exert myself, I can go most places. Some building gasses still penetrate the mask, and some of the gasses can creep in through the sides, so it is not a cure-all, but I can walk on city streets again without my lungs seizing up.If the people who make the mask read this, "thank you." The only thing I would suggest is to make one for people who are active (breath heavy and rapidly) in inclosed environments. At time it feels like I'm suffocating andI have to go outside to find a place with clear air, which is partly due to the fact that my lungs are still damaged and have double breathing anyway.Thanks Again!!!
