When the blind see it all.....
A very good story about small town USA. Two boys, best friends, one black one white. Lots of issues there but the two are very good friends. The father of the white boy catches the two boys together and thinks they have been intimate with each other. They are too young to know about intamacy betwen adults but too bad. The black boy is sent off the property and the white one dragged home. The father abuses the boy as only two males can. The wee black boy has come to the house to check on his friend. He interrupts the events but sees whats happening. This story is shown in flashbacks as the boys are now men and living their lives. They stopped being close that day when the abuse happened but there tale has to continue..... A movie very worth watching by any adult. Makes you think and pulls the compassion strings big time. In adulthood the white boy has a blind brother he lives with. He attempt care but the black man returns and is a real brother to the blind one.

INTENSE DRAMA
Bought this movie as I am a fan of GALE HAROLD. WoW! what a powerful story. Gale was so well cast in this roleas he is such an intense actor. Sad story - nobody won in the end but, as with his Queer as Folk role, Gale was not afraid to take on a difficult topic. It was funny to see Michelle Clunie acting with him in a totally different roll. The other actors made this whole story believeable. I found myself laughing in some parts and actually crying in others. I would recommend you buy but be warned the topic of child abuse is not for everyone.

The Unseen: Great movie!
I bought The Unseen, only because Gale Harold was in it. I am a HUGE fan of his! But I was pleasantly surprised at just how good this film was. My hat is off to Lisa France for direction. Well done! Gale Harold did an awesome job with his character, Harold. I have rednecks in my family, dated them and even married one. So I know a redneck when I see one! Gale had it down perfect. The most PHENOMENAL acting goes to Phillip Bloch! I was blown away with his performance! He was hilarious trying to climb out the window! It must have been somewhat difficult playing blind and keeping his eyes rolled up in his head like that. Michelle Clunie, in MHO did an excellent job as well. Several other reviewers said she was 'too over the top'. I thought she did great. And with Michelle and Gale both being on Queer as Folk, I saw not one tiny trace, what-so-ever, of Mel and Brian. They put those characters on the shelf, and played two, new characters, totally different and refreshing. I am glad I bought this DVD for my ever growing collection.

Surprise Ending Makes This Worth Seeing
Not a great film, but a good film overall. The plot deals with how people can misinterpret what they think they saw, andhow this can affect them and others for their entire lives. This is one of those films where past secrets are revealed atthe end that explain the motivations of the characters that may seem strange when first viewed. Powerful ending to arather slow moving film overall.

Highly Recommend
As a long time fan of Gale Harold's, it's been a privilege to watch him develop into an amazing actor. And quite fascinating to watch Mr. Harold portray a racist, confederate flag waving redneck, since the film character represents the polar opposite of Mr. Harold's personal views.Powerful story, beautiful cinematography. Would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for Michelle Clunie's somewhat over-the-top performance.

Great movie
I rented this movie not knowing what to expect since I have never heard of it. But, I was pleasantly surprised it was so good. I have seen Gale Harold on TV in Queer As folk and Steve Harris in The Practice and they do not disappoint in this movie. It ISO worth renting.

A TRAGIC MIX OF EVERYTHING
WOW!! WHAT A FILM!!!FANS OF GALE HAROLD ARE IN FOR YET ANOTHER TREAT!!when roy [steve harris]returns to his sleepy childhood town for his fathers funeral...a disturbing secret,he once left behind, steadily unravels, when he bumps into his childhood friend harold [gale harold] and his blind brother sammy [phillip bloch]i wont go any further as i dont want to spoil this for you but i will say that's funny, witty, sad, shocking, and that it tackles issues like racism, blindness, and abuse in such a way writer and director.lisa france..should be extemely proud of.there's a great mix of characters.all the actors are superb.philip bloch is absolutely wonderful as blind sammy. steve harris as the shy in-turmoil roy. and look out for michelle clunie [mel in qaf] as harolds dippy girlfriend, kathleen. [for qaf fans..this film was actually filmed in 2004..while they were filming season4?] i hardly recognised her!!but personally for me this is GALE HAROLDS finest performance since QAF.It just goes to prove, once again, what a diverse actor he really is.ITS A GREAT JOURNEY WITH MANY SIDE TRIPS..ALL SMOOTHLY BUT TRAGICALLY,JOINING TOGETHER TOWARDS THE END OF THE ROAD.ENJOY THE RIDE!!

shocking movie
For me it's a shocking movie. A good story and a big congratulations to all the actors and actresses for their performance. I really enjoyed Steve Harris and Phillip Bloch's performance and dialogue. This movie makes you think about why the people act the way they do and the consequence of those acts.
