This is a great product, sure you could use Windex or whatnot but why not use the right stuff created for the actual job? I haven't seen a spot of rust on any of my hand tools since using this, not the case with other products

Easy to use, can mix small amount for small jobs so don't have to stor mixed product. Easy to use, easy to clean up. Haven't used it lind enough to test how well it protects blades.

I've been using krud cutter for years.. mostly because I saw the price of this stuff and nievely thought it was too expensive. What I didn't realize is that you use 2 cap fulls in 1 liter. My spray bottle I'm using it 500ml, so 1 cap full. Which means this little bottle represents a many many year supply, making it cheaper than windex or krud cutter. I've used it a few time on my diamond stones and shapton glass stones, I'd say it works the same, but it doesn't have that cleaner smell... and again, it's actually more cost effective.

Saw this recommended by Rob Cosman. A few caps full per quart and spray to lift the scarf prevents steelbacking plates on diamond stones from rusting.

I've used water stones for years without this, but I am very glad a coworker suggested it. With carbon steel tools one must always take care to dry them immediately to prevent corrosion. In an extended sharpening session this can be problematic. HoneRite largely solves that problem. I was able to put a couple large, dull knives and some chisels through complete care without getting any dark spots on any of them.

Use on my sharpening stones no rust so far update: this product is still working awesome still no rust on my DMT diamond stones heard windex will do the same but I’m sticking with the product regardless I sharpen a lot and still haven’t had to mix up another batch in the spay bottle so it’s been a year still going strong leave it in the shop all the time with weather changes and liquid still in same shape as day one ! A little goes a long way for sure!

I can add this to water and use this one fluid on my diamond stones and the water stones, without fear of rust.
