Great hardwares packed into a small size. Best for notetaking.
It's a great machine with no doubt, have it for about a month now.I brought this notebook for college note taking because it supports active stylus. Takes perfect notes and easy to use, overall I would give a 5 star to it.But after about 2 weeks of usage, suddenly the wireless connection starts to go crazy on this notebook. The connection with my home wifi is switching between internet access and no internet access with a yellow sign. Troubleshooted it and got a result of "One or more protocols are missing on this compuer", fixed it and 5 seconds later it doesn't have internet access again. Especially when I need to use the internet to sync up things, it disconnects when the process is about to complete. Acts like there is a virus but there isn't.But surprisingly it connects to my college wifi with no problem at all, uploading and downloading speed both reaching 4mb/s and smooth.Trying to look for a way to solve this problem, I tried reinstalling drivers, flush dns and reset ip config, clean up registry, but the problem is still here.Going to return it if I can't find a way to fix it before next semester begins. The biggest problem right now is the ability to sync my notes through MS Onenote------Update Jan.19, 2016---Raised rating to 4 stars from 2 starts, mainly because of Wifi issue should not drop 60% of overall rating. Currently the tablet still have a bit of issue with internet conncection. Wireless connection still not solved, but able to setup all the sync settings when in school. Thanks for the suggestions, it's probably the router's problem because the other devices in my house are starting to get connection issues as well, will switch router soon and will update after.

Falls SHORT of expectations and here's why
I tried my very hardest to like this 2 in 1 t-100 CHI tablet/laptop, to stay objective but the glitches as well as possible hardware issues are just beyond frustrating and unreasonable to deal with for any modern computer device that a technology dependent and literate millennial relies on. The PROS are that it's a high quality physical device, thin sleek, portable and the screen is beautifully vibrant... but the CONS outweigh the PROS by a landslide. I use AVG and my PC is completely virus free and up to date with Windows. Okay so the breakdown of the issues by chronological order of appearance:ISSUE 1 - TIME. From day 1, the first pervasive and weird problem was and is the intermittent and odd inability of the T-100 to keep time. There have been time discrepancies from 30 mins to several hours. I thought it was a CMOS battery problem or time setting issue in the BIOS. Looked in the BIOS, nope the time was kept correctly. After looking, the time kept for a couple days and then stopped keeping time again. Tried BIOS update, and still didn't fix the problem. And to this day, I have to continually have to go to "Date and Time" to change the date and time even though auto detect of timezone is enabled.ISSUE 2 - GHOST CURSOR CLICKS. So after putting the laptop to sleep or turning off the screen, there's this weird ghost clicking phenomenon where even if one doesn't click or move the touchpad, multiple clicks are spammed at various locations. This can lead to windows being closed out, frustration of trying to do anything. And ultimately the only solution is to restart the computer -- this is an enduring theme which will be discussed later.ISSUE 3 - WIFI or KEYBOARD stops working. So as with ISSUE 2, after putting the tablet to sleep, turning off the screen and returning to Windows... the WIFI and/or keyboard would fail to reconnect or it works in short bursts even though they are clearly toggled on. There's sometimes a device error with connecting to the keyboard that can be fixed with turning off the keyboard and/or bluetooth and retrying but sometimes that doesn't work so again the solution is restarting. With the WIFI, it sometimes connects but then disconnects intermittently require one to reconnect again and again until the only solution is to restart the PC.ISSUE 4: USB conversion connection. So because of the device's thinesss, it uses a micro USB and to use regular sized USB devices such as mouses and flash drives one has to buy a miniUSB to USB3.0 cable. Initially I thought that's fine, not a big deal to carry around an extra cable but the problem therein lies with the again intermittent disconnections! so what that translates to is if one wants to transfer something from flash drive, it may take several tries before it's successful because of interruption and corruption of file transfer.ISSUE 5: BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) intermittent issues. Can't tell you how many times where for example, I've been working on a project and I go to get coffee, come back and see the computer is in the process of restarting or has restarted. This is a liability for anyone who does any work using word processors, spreadsheet software and moreISSUE 6: crackly AUDIO. For whatever reason, the audio jack, and I've tried many headphones and speakers, is especially crackly and there's a lot of background noise. This is just ridiculous for a modern device.ISSUE 7: RESTARTING infinite freeze. OK and this is the clincher as of late seeing how RESTARTING is the solution to ISSUES 2 and 3. Sometimes restarting works but sometimes it doesn't where it'll be stuck in a loop indefinitely so eventually one has to weigh the "Sunk Costs" deciding whether or not to continue waiting, hoping the restart will go through In these cases a lot of precious time and effort can be wasted.Overall, very disappointed. This is my first ASUS and it may be my last. Definitely don't recommend

UPDATE: STILL works as well as new. updated to 4 stars. Quirky, but solid.
UPDATE 7: WHAT a great machine. Still going strong.UPDATE 6: Potential Surface buyers: If you can still find one of these, save yourself some bucks and buy it. S/W updates and WIN10 migration worked great.Update 5:Have been struggling with this for a month. Mini-usb 3.0 otg cable is now working with NTFS external hard drives. Will not work with all usb 2.0 devices. Touch pad driver is terrible. Get a BT mouse. Have ordered a usb 2.0 otg cable as well. Let you know. The tablet is now functional.update4:Got my Vostrostone OTG micro USB 3.0 cable to work with external NTFS SSD on mt T100 CHI! Cable says on package it works Only With FAT32 formatted drives. I was able to plug in and reformat an SSD on another laptop to xfat, then back to ntfs, then plugged it into the otg cable into my asus t100 chi, and it now works....does Win 10 backups and system images on to a PNY 240GB SSD. Remember to replug external drive after waking from sleep mode.SLOWLY but surely getting this ASUS to behave, added one star. But....Why is ASUS support so silent on this usb 3.0 issue? Upgraded to 3 stars. Still dealing with wonky touchpad driver that magnifies text spontaneously. I am now used to the laggy wake up of the bluetooth keyboard.Update 2: The OTG cable ONLY works with FAT 32 drives.....Called Asus after OTG cable failed to work with external NTFS drive. They claimed it wont support OTG (even though the cable mfr claimed it would). They claimed it was for OUTPUT only (?). SO, NO USABLE USB 3.0 PORT?!?. They told me to use the USB 2.0 port for backup, or my SDHC card, at a fraction of the throughput, EVEN THOUGH they do not enclose adapters for that EITHER!Also the Keyboard goes into sleep mode and you are stuck with the faux onscreen kbd.Update 3:The mini Usb 3.0 port does work directly with mini Usb flash drives, both PNY and Sandisk, no adapter rqd. But both were fat32.
