Very tasty and creamy
Really great, fast to make and tasty. I was not sure what "porridge oats" meant - these are quite small thin flakes, maybe smaller/thinner than standard "quick oats" (they do seem to be slightly smaller than McCann's quick cooking oats). They absorb water easily and make a very creamy oatmeal in the microwave. They can almost completely disintegrate with too much cooking or water. I have used these to make a quick soak, uncooked muesli cereal (oats, nuts, raisins, milk) when short on time. These are great for recipes and blend/meld right into bread, muffins, pancake or cookie recipes (without having to grind into oat flour, do not have as much "bite" or hardness as thicker cut oats). I like that they are organic.[For reference since other reviews mentioned expiration date, the expiration date for the batch I received was a bit closer than I prefer - ordered in May and expire in Nov - this does not impact my review since this is an Amazon issue, not related to the product itself.]

BEST Oatmeal!
I just came online to order up another 6pack of my favorite organic oatmeal, and egad! They're out! I love this oatmeal so much I am literally feeling some panic at the idea that I might not be able to get more! I have only one bag left... I haven't ever left a review of it, but figured I'd take the moment to, since I'm here and can't actually order the oatmeal. Why is it my favorite? I don't know - it just has a very nice creamy texture, smooth and well, like oatmeal. I feed it all the time to my baby. He loves it too. It comes out even creamier if you make it with some milk as well. A dollop of butter or even coconut oil, with some maple syrup - mmmm... can't get much healthier than that! Oh, I hope hope hope they are only temporarily out of stock. I will be super bummed if this really is my last bag of it.

Yummy good, easy, and nutritious--what more could you ask for?
Oh my lord. I just got back from Scotland and had porridge every morning for breakfast. So yummy and I wanted some now that I'm back in the States. Instant oatmeal, Quaker oats, plain oats, steelcut oats? Not the same. These are the real deal, and glad I got 'em in the organic variety. They cook up in 2-3 minutes on the stove, and they are so creamy and good. I had a lovely, hot bowl this morning with some sliced banana and agave syrup. Equally as wonderful with fresh berries, brown sugar, raisins, maple syrup. Oh my, a truly great way to start the day. Yummy good, easy, and nutritious--what more could you ask for?

BEST PORRIDGE EVER!!!!!
I previously reviewed Flanhavan's regular porridge, which is what we usually buy. I purchased a case of this organic varriety after the previous item was out of stock.......duh, for like the same price why wouldn't I want the organic instead????This is, like previously stated, the best on the market. Way better than the other imported Irish oatmeal. Its creamy and so delicious. We make it daily, using 1/2 c. of porridge to 1 c. of 1% milk in a deep bowl for 2.15 minutes in the microwave. Put it in a mug, cover & take to work. Reheats well in the microwave @ work. Add any nuts, fruits, sweeteners or eat it plain........so good, as well as so healthy! American brand oatmeal is very good, but this has the edge, it's that good. Check out their website as well!

Best Porridge Ever
I first tried Flahavan's Organic Porridge Oats when visiting relatives in Ireland. Up to that time, I ate regular thick-cut oatmeal. Flahavan's is much better, in my opinion. It's very creamy, even without milk of any kind, and it cooks fast. I cook it on the stove top in lightly salted water for about 10 minutes, but I think you don't have to cook it that long. I serve it with maple syrup, and maybe a dash of salt. Plain and simple, and it's great! Easy to digest, as well. I don't want to go back to regular oatmeal again. Try it, and I think you'll love it.

I was shocked by the amount of Porridge Oats I received. You don't truly understand how much 6 bags of this stuff is until you receive it and let me tell you, the quality is top notch. I'm eating this bland with plain ole filtered water and it tastes great! I'm using 1/2 cup + 2/3 cups of water in the microwave for 2:45.Quality oats, great price and enough to last you a year or so.

Excellent!
I ordered this porridge in a final attempt to find the luscious oatmeal that I enjoyed during my travels in Ireland. I wasn't disappointed! This product is quick and easy to make (excellent for me as mother of a young child), but its delicious to boot. I add a nice teaspoon of brown sugar to the pot while its cooking for some extra sweetness, but that's about it. No cream needed to make wonderfully creamy porridge. Wonderful!
